I couldn't see anybody but Mayfield winning it out of the three they had up there.
That being said, the Heisman is a joke and has been since Bush won over VY if not before.
It went downhill starting with Peyton Manning losing to Charles Woodson. Since there, there have been a lot of bad picks (Chris Weinke, Jason White, Reggie Bush, Bradford over McCoy who beat him, Mark Ingram who was the second best running back on Bama’s roster, Jamis Winston, Derrick Henry, now Mayfield). It is obvious with these picks that the award is not going to the best or most valuable player, but instead to the player that makes the most noise on one of the top 4 teams. Winston and Mayfield show that off the field means nothing either. The key to winning the heisman most years nowadays: Be on the best team and make a lot of hype. It has ceased being all that great of an award.
He has a lot of time tothrow, has top level receivers to throw to, and plays in a weak conference. Beat Clemson, I'll beimpressed
This! You could sub a lot of starting QBs in who would do better than Baker Mayfield with that offensive line, those running backs and those WRs. Put Mayfield on a lesser team, including us, and he may not even be the starter (see Tech where he rightfully lost his job.) He is not better than Josh Heupel, Jason White, Sam Bradford, Major Applewhite, Chris Simms, Vince Young or Colt McCoy. Sooners dont love him because he is the best. Sooners love him the most for his being an obnoxious punk with his antics and snowflake BS.
I will also add that Trevor Knight’s win over Bama is a better individual performance than we have ever seen from Mayfield.
