It was a hot one out there today, but I loved being back at the Disch!

Our #1 National Fielding % Matters
Also, UT has the #1 fielding % in the country. Errors on us are few and far between. Early in the game, Air Force got to see what a few errors (on AF's D) can do to your momentum and to the scoreboard. Our first point or two were largely due to Air Force errors.

That is super important, good pitching and defense will win more games than offense.
 
Gordon gets out of first no damage. Horns get two men on base from hit by pitch themselves in the bottom of first but strand both. 0-0 through one.
 
Gordon gives up a single and a double in the top of the second but strands them both in scoring position. Playing with fire but still 0-0 headed to bottom of second.
 
Dang, third bean of the game already and beaned the wrong one, Faltine doesn’t take that lightly, mouthing to the pitcher.
 
Living dangerously but Gordon getting it done. LT left two on again but no runs. See if we can get some runs now.
 
Gordon keeps playing with fire in the top of third but gets k with runners on corners and strands two more (that is 6 through 3 innings). Horns need to get bats going.
 
Gordon went 5 and a third, gave up nine hits and one earned run and is responsible for runner on first. Stevens gets pop out but then gives up single and there are runners on the corners.
 
Horns get base runner in bottom of sixth but can’t do anything, La Tech starting pitcher is in the 90’s with his pitch count but is in control. Headed to seventh 1-1.
 
Tristan gets out of seventh with no damage stranding two. All day the Horns have played with fire. Got to get some runs as at stretch it’s still 1-1.
