It is a seriously bad mistake for a man in such a leadership role and with his maturity. I love Augie but I have a short fuse over this. He knows better, should have acted accordingly, and did not. He needs to be dealt with as I know the university will.

I also wonder if this will drive a changing of the guard. If UT will fire Coach Gus for financial irregularities, then they probably take a rather dim view of coaches getting arrested for DUI.

Not to speculate on what WILL happen with Augie, since everything apparently hasn't been weighed by Dodds yet, but if Texas does go looking for a new coach, for whatever reason, I would bet they'll look in the direction of San Marcos.

Interestingly, I saw Mack and Muschamp at Sullivan's last night. They were not drunk but I had this totally random thought wondering IF they were drunk, and got pulled over, what would happen?

Then I wake up and read Augie gets pulled over last night.

So I guess my random thought was answered.

I am really sorry to hear about this, but DeLoss has a really tough decision on his hands. This is worse than the second place trophy fiasco, and will make UT the butt of jokes forever if he does not leave. I can hear the hecklers already. From an internal position, it is impossible to discipline players when the coach gets the DWI. An incredible lack of judgement for someone in his position, but we have seen this before. Drunk Tom was chased off without the DWI so I don't expect Augie to last the month.

I can't believe some people are calling for him to get fired over this.

On the list of transgressions that should expose someone to get fired, this is very, very far down.
