Atheists with an affinity for Christianity

rickysrun and Nick,

Seems odd that both of you have managed to ignore the threads about cell phones killing the honey bees, and about the 716 days until graduation, and about the millennials, and about bio-markers heralding the invention of doc in a box, and about other things as well.

Clearly you're capable of bypassing things that don't interest you, and which you find to be tiresome or unproductive. Yet here you are, somehow helpless to move on to other activities, choosing instead to pontificate on the pointlessness of these discussions.

Tell me: which is more unproductive? Arguing about metaphysics and religion or arguing about whether someone else ought to share your view on how unproductive it is to argue about metaphysics and religion?

The most unproductive thing is to try to engage in meaningful discourse with you or Perham.

And only a hypocrite would complain about me or Ricky'srun for not posting on threads that you have not posted on as of 8:49 p.m. today.

Dionysus,

Do you say that “good”, in terms of human solidarity, and kindness and decency with our neighbors, is something we always agree on; or do fellow creatures sometimes fail to achieve solidarity over exactly these sorts of things?

correct me if i'm wrong, Gadfly, but you seem to be making a case for moral relativism. what the muslims and americans consider "good" or "evil" are totally at odds (i'm talking specifically about the examples you use in your post and not in general).
nothing wrong with that, just seeing if i'm understanding.

I don't have anything meaningful to add to this thread. I just wanted to drop by and post on it.
