AOC wants 70% tax on wealthy

A business man vs a socialist.

Trump in 2 years = add 4,000,000 new jobs
AOC in 2 months = lost 25,000 jobs

I'm not sure that's true. People pay attention to Bernie Sanders, and he looks like a freak.
True, and as outlandish and bizarre as his views are, at least he seems to be educated. AOC, well....not so much. So, people may listen to a freak who is smart.

What's interesting about that is that on paper, he's no more educated than she is. However, he went to college at a time when that meant something. Now anybody can go to college and graduate without learning much. As Chris Rock once said, it's a disco with books.

Right. For me it would the difference in referring to the wealthiest people as the "Top 1%" as Commie Bernie does and "Tippy top" as numb nuts Commie AOC does.

Both loons, one seems smarter than the other.

Bernie doesn't strike me as very intelligent at all. He seems like a total hypocrite who is completely unselfaware about it. How intelligent do you have to be protest "rich people" your whole career. No new solutions. Not even any new problems. He learned a few communist slogans in college. That's about it.

You made my point. He seems more intelligent than AOC. That is just how dumb she is.

The broken clock is sometimes right. The 2016 Bernie was right about open borders, and he has gotten some things right about the banking and federal reserve systems, where he and Rand Paul have significant agreement. But other than that, he's not very bright, but he still has more brains than AOC, who talks like a 9 year old.

Bernie has more brains largely because he's managed to stay long enough to accumulate more of them through sheer weight of experience, and also because he's demonstrated the ability to make it to 80 without ever having earned a paycheck.

This guy has the story on how they got her ginger bf on staff

Reading the above I do not believe AOC is stupid. Exhibit one "I'm going broke this way how can I get rich and pay my boy friend - I'll run for congress!" And how to get elected? Well I can be intelligent on the issues or radical and exaggerate everything, which would win? I'll pick radical - and it won, that's not stupid and it is certainly working on the income part too. She'll retire rich, you just watch.

She's dumb; not stupid. There's a difference.

It is amazing how they miss the point that the valuation increase x the rate creates the taxes. Absent Amazon, no valuation increase AND no redistribution of wealth from Amazon's world-wide sales to the area to the extent of the spend the company would generate.

It just keeps coming with this chick. We got it all here: pompous virtue signaling, complete detachment from economic reality, utterly un-socialist wealth redistribution, conflatuon government money with private funding, relentless self-congratulation.

When you move into a "rich person only" apartment, trade favors with a think tank to get your boyfriend some extra money, pay your staffers well below median wage and then brag about being "alex from the block," you are absolutely doing DC right. Kudos.

People who are extolling AOC's virtue do understand that she's paying her staff with the taxpayer's money, not her own, right? I don't necessarily have a problem with it. Living in DC is ridiculously expensive, but let's keep the record straight. AOC isn't being generous with her staff. We are being generous with her staff.

I wish AOC understood that government intervention (fascism) like she wants greatly increases the cost of living which means "livable" wages become very high. $52,000 in most parts of the country is more than livable. I was paid less than that out of college for an engineering job. Today maybe that $ value is a bit higher but still.

So the amount any congressperson has to pay staff and office expenses is set and 18 is the max number she can hire what this means in some of her staff will get paid less than standard pay, for Chief of Staff as one.
Wonder how long her chief of staff will be ok getting 20-25k less than his counter parts?

Do Congresspeople get a staff budget? It would seem they do. She's simply choosing to have less stratification in her staffs wages or will have fewer staff. No sure that her claim of $52k minimum will cost the taxpayers anymore unless you were expecting her to underspend her budget. I bet none of the Congresspeople underspend.

Should have read the thread before commenting. AOC will simply have less stratification in her staff salaries. I'm in no position to say whether that is good or bad.

That is true, but my point is that she's not paying for this and isn't being generous.

OK I'm doing my daily Bible reading, and I'm at this section in Proverbs and couldn't help but think it should be posted here:

The woman Folly is loud;
she is seductive and knows nothing.
She sits at the door of her house;
she takes a seat on the highest places of the town,
calling to those who pass by,
who are going straight on their way,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” Proverbs 9:13-16
