Wow. lots of offers so far. Guess Mack just couldn't keep get hand out of the cookie jar.

I like that they are looking OOS more at OL.

Thanks, Bill. I was busy all weekend, and your update/summary is just what I was looking for.

thanks bill. i was wondering how the class might be shaping up globally. from you're list, it looks like we're still after:

1 RB
1 WR
3 OL
2 OT
3 DT
1 DE
1 LB

Assuming we get all of those players (I wish), we would end up with the following distribution of recruits:

1 QB
1 RB
3 WR
3 OT
4 OL

5 DT
3 DE
3 LB
2 DB

That seems pretty balanced to me given our numbers at QB and RB already and our paucity of depth on OL and DL.

I don't know how the Malcolm Brown visit went but an indication that it went good is that he got offered. But I think he will go to A&M with Cole. Of course these are just hunches and don't mean anything. I think Edwards is going to Florida State.
I rate our chances as fair with Gray so we may start looking elsewhere. I think we have a good chance with Estelle and Starts and maybe a fair one with Magee.
I think the chances with the five out of staters is very low but we may get one of them.
I don't think we will offer more than one or two more offers unless an exception shows interest. Overall I think this class will shut it down at 20 unless we get some OOS verbals.

Surely Mack and Akina can identify and offer another DB or 2 they believe can help us. I'd be excited about finishing with +/-20 if it includes another DB and the rest from our offer list

If LSU is exposed for using street agents, it will be interesting to see who swoops in. My guess is Alabama and Auburn. However, if LSU is out of the picture and street agents aren't used, both Florida and Texas could capitalize. Man, even as I typed, it sounded unrealistic. Who am I kidding? Even if LSU got in trouble, it would just allow Alabama and Auburn more opportunities.

Our odds with Gray are better than fair. His family likes UT and he does as well. His dad doesn't want him getting too banged up to increase his NFL chances so he likes the fact he would be splitting time with MB here. Kind of like an Ingram/RIchardson combo. This was per a Recruitocosm article a while back...can't remember which one but I'll leave a link over there anyways.

So happens that Cole seems to be higher on us than most think....should be interesting to watch that one play out. MB2 goes where Cole goes and Mack is in hot pursuit. Look at Sausagefest comment in the second link...this guy's source is almost always spot on.

We have 8 In State Offers and 5 as Out of State Offers for a total of 13 outstanding offers.

The 8 In State offers are as follows:

1. RB Johnathan Gray of Aledo
2. OL Kennedy Estelle of Pearland Dawson
3. OL Michael Starts of Waco La Vega
4. DT Javonte Magee of Sam Houston in San Antonio
5. LB Timothy Cole of Brenham
6. DE Mario Edwards of Denton
7. DT Malcolm Brown of Brenham
8. WR Griffin Gilbert of Austin West Lake Travis (may be TE)

The following are the 5 Out of State offers:

I just found out from Rival's we have offered Garrett Gilbert's younger brother. He has been a good playmaker for his school and has offers from Clemson, TCU, a Texas Tech as well as us. I think we have a good chance to get this one.

Griffin would be a great pick up. He's tall, makes big catches & would give defenses fits as a collegiate WR/TE.

Thanks for the update, Bill. Had not heard about Gilbert's offer. I like the legacy aspect for talented recruits but am wondering how UT has room for another TE. Ridgeway is also a possible TE as you noted.

We currently have 8 schoarship TEs on the roster (Graham, Grant, Howard, Irby, Jones, Matthews, McFarland and Terrell) with only 2 seniors, one of which will likely get another year of eligibility (Irby - Medical Hardship). Also, it seems Grant ought to be eligible for a Medical Hardship waiver after missing the last 2 seasons to knee injury. Graham also missed a year due to knee injury and may qualify for the Medical Hardship waiver.
It seems we are well stocked there even though we haven't yet gotten much production out of this group. There appears to be a lot of potential talent to work with for several years.

Someone produced a depth chart/roster showing players by year and position quite awhile back but I haven't seen anything current.

Anyone know where that came from?

6. ATH Nelson Agholor of Tampa, FL (Probably RB or WR)

I adjusted for Griffin Gilbert who verbaled to TCU. He probably didn't want to grayshirt. We offered Agholor who will probably be a RB or WR in college. I think our chances are very slim but he is fast and worth offering.

So has Gray made any comments like he would like to make a decision quickly so he can stop the recruiting process and focus on other things or has he mentioned he's in no hurry and expect a decision sometime after his last HS football game? Just wondering if there's a chance of hearing something in the near furture or not.

Yeah, I think this is the most anticipated recruit that I know of so far. Can't wait to get updates on his situation . Hopefully he'll pick UT !

Are there any updates on any recruits that plan on committing soon !??! I'm getting antsy !

Michael Starts out of La Vega is a freaking beast. Saw him in a couple of games and when you pick on on someone constantly smashing people into the turf you get recognized.
