I know it's one game, but here's his stat line in the Baylor game.

13 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists.

He showed at the end that he's not a reliable ball handler either. Missed some clutch FTs at the end too.

He only played 23 minutes because of foul trouble, but I don't like him playing over 30 minutes anyway, since he IS a one dimensional player like I've been saying.

On the other hand, what dimensions are we NOT getting from Justin Mason? That kid is everywhere and doing everything.

We are not getting 3 point shooting or FT shooting from Mason. Did you watch the game? He was great on the inside and played a good tough game but was still terrible from 3 and terrible at the line. You can hate on Abrams all you want but he is still a big part of this team and the only consistent 3 point shooter we have.

Good win. They showed tremendous hustle for 35 minutes. Loose balls were attacked and the front court dominated. Baylor made a run at the right time. Who hasn't watched a close Texas game and wished we could get back to back steals and bury the 3 to bring it close. Baylor did it. The Horns showed they could overcome Baylor's effort. There is a lot of young talent on the BU squad and that should not be discounted. Most of them have only lost 4 times to Texas despite what the current win streak is

Good win!

I'm not hating on AJ as much as I am accurately describing his game.

And actually, Mason shot the same FT% as AJ today. Of course Abrams is a better 3pt shooter than Mason, but Mason does so much more.

Give me Mason over Abrams any day. Mason really is the next Ivey.

Yeah today. But over the season our only 2 good FT shooters are AJ and DJ. You can talk about Mason all you want but without AJ this team isn't what it is. All you have to do is look at the shot where Baylor left Mason wide open for 3 and he missed it. They are both good players but I think AJ is very important to this team. He is the 2nd leading scorer on the team. To say that he isn't important to our success just isn't smart

I believe I made it clear that we need Abrams to beat the great teams. We will not win a championship without him. He gives us the hot shooting asset we need to either stay in games or win games at the end.

All I was saying is that we have enough talent to win games without him at least against decent teams.

Other than that crap at the end, I thought this was a good game for AJ, especially considering the ****** refs.

It wasn't his role to look inside. He didn't take too many shots. It was DJ getting constantly abused on defense, not AJ. I still think his assist numbers should be higher, but he didn't have the necessary touches against Baylor for that to happen.

I like what I see out of AJ against both KU and Baylor. I hope he keeps it up. I like this AJ a lot more than the Iowa State AJ, even if the Iowa State AJ was more spectacular from a scoring standpoint.

AJ got 13 points off of what, 7 FG attempts, and played great man-to-man D (as did Mason, BTW). I'll take it.

For a guy that has "AJ" in his user name, you sure bash him a lot...

I don't know if you just have sky high expectations for the kid or what, but hes helping his team win, especially over these last 5 games. His "one dimension" was critical in winning those games against BU, OU, ISU and I just don't understand how you don't see that. His "other dimensions", which apparently do not exist, are what helped beat KU. Both of these things refute your "his one dimension is only critical to beating great teams, we don't need him against good/decent teams" bologna.
