They didn't just bring the infield in like you'd normally do, they brought an extra man up into the infield.

Even if they were in a normal alignment, if the CF catches that ball, there is no way for them to throw out Brown at home, defensive alignment was to cut off the play at home for anything short enough to make a play at home.

Kennedy does his job and hits it deep enough it didn't matter what defensive alignment they had, it ends the game.

Those come-from-behind wins and extra inning games can pay dividends later in the season. Meanwhile, glad we have a struggling Baylor coming to town for the weekend series, maybe a little more time to work out the kinks in this pitching staff.
