Aggy

I don't miss Aggie! They sucked in the Big 12 and they are just loser, posers in the SEC. Outside of veterinarians and farmers what does that school produce? I can tell you many of their engineers are arrogant jerks that don't know that much. One the main reasons I want to move out of the Houston area and back to Central Texas is because of Aggie Alums, and the traffic.

When I moved from Austin to Houston c. 1990, thenafter returned after a few months to visit my friends in Austin, when asked when I might be moving back, I remarked: "I like Houston, always have. Anyway, not moving back to Austin --- traffic's too bad."

I love Houston but it is very ag-centric. We used to call the local paper the Houston Chronagicle when I lived there in the 90s.

Agreed, Phil, Kirk Bohls could take some advice from the Houston Comical (what we called it) sportswriters and try a little more to be hometown biased (afterall, they're SPORTSWRITERS, not journalists trying to win a Pulitzer for some Watergate thingy).

Is it possible that my sarcasm is a bit too subtle?
I think you hit a nerve with your quote, brought back memories, and some nightmares.

As for those of you that thought I meant Austin when I wrote Central Texas. I live in the Houston Suburbs, and I like some of the small towns around Austin. Elgin, Taylor, Bastrop, Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Lakeway, Spicewood. Probably will be two years before we do anything. 25 years in the Houston metroplex is a long time, I am from a smaller City. And the wife and I like hills. We don't have those in Houston.

Just got back from a quick circular trip - Katy to Bush library - to Austin then Fredericksburg (obligatory Luckenbach stop) to Kerrville to San Antonio (stop at Medina lake to see its miraculous recovery from 2013) and boy had we forgotten just how hilly and beautiful is the true hill country - great trip just to fast and too short.

I live halfway between Bee Cave and Dripping Springs, and I drive thru Lakeway every day. Those are not small towns anymore. You will need to go out further to get a "small town", at least to Johnson City. If that is where you would like to retire, I recommend you buy land now, it ain't getting any cheaper.

By my estimation within 20 years Austin and San Antonio will completely grow together. San Antonio's traffic is actually pretty good. New Braunfels area is ideal for me. easy access to Austin and San Antonio plus you get some fantastic hill country living.

Love New Braunfels would move there anytime. We’re going to live on a lake if possible. So NB, Bee Cave, and Spicewood would fit that bill. If we listed everything the price tag would be out of site. Like 100 acres on lake Travis. Ha, yea right.

Hey, aggy did win halftime of 10+ games this past season!

Most overrated band in the history of sports. They do the same routine week after week, year after year. The UT Alumni Band does just about the same show and they put it together in a week.

Six of those, the opponent didn't bring their band to to Kyle Field.

That said, there is no way that group of overgrown boysprouts can compete with the ladies decorating the field from Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge or Gainesville.

:beertoast:

You go with what you got,,,,and that’s all they got. Which, while we may rightly say it’s not much at the same time, it ain’t nothin.

And Ag businessmen only doing good business deals with Ags, the rest of us get their middle finger.
I am afraid you have something. I worked at a large law firm that had a rule of "only one Aggie". The rule was broken and we had a dozen before you knew it. Crazy.

Ha! aggy thinks they figured out a clever marketing strategy. Promote & sell the SEC brand & success over agricultural & mechanical college of Texas brand.

WHOOP!

That is one part, the more effective part is to put all the handlers on the Adidas payroll and funnel the athletes the aggsy want to collieville. Guys like Footwork King and Willie Lyles are paid by Adidas and since aggsy is an adidas school they funnel these kids to them.

Nike needs to step up or they will be paying Texas for nothing.
