Affirmative Action is now dead

Cuban redefined equality of outcome as equality of opportunity in order to dodge Rufo on this. It is odd how smart people can do such dumb things, but I guess we all do it.

What I found even more odd was Cuban's insistence that DEI improved the bottom line of companies who implement it. If that were truly the case you wouldn't need DEI to implement equity. But we all know it destroys organizations, so not sure what data he is looking at.

It implies some sort of functionality and usefulness to society. Cuban is a brain dead zombie.

That's actually a pretty good point. And my apologies to the throbbing tools out there with whom I associated with Mark Cuban. You all are better than he.

How is this not true of ALL federal bureaucrats?

There are a lot of different kinds of people in the federal workforce. They're not all the same. Some are truly conscientious employees trying to do a good job. They're working as hard as any other employee. Not a lot of these, but they do exist.

Probably most are mediocre. They're doing their jobs ok but aren't excelling or impressing anybody. Some were always like this. Others used to be in the previous class but got burned out and apathetic once they realized it didn't matter how well they did their jobs.

And then of course a significant number are lazy and unproductive but aren't doing anything specific and verifiable that would get them or their agency into trouble. They're doing their jobs just well enough not to get canned (a very low standard in the government sector).

And then you have ones who are active troublemakers. They're doing or knowingly tolerating unethical or illegal things or things that are getting their agency into big political or legal trouble. It's actually not that big of a group, but even a small number of them can cause a hell of a lot of trouble, especially if they're powerful. The guy she's scolding fits in this category.
