Abilene Christian game

I've watched a lot of ACU basketball the past few years. Anyone that thinks they'll go away tonight is mistaken. Texas may very well out talent them, but they won't out-hustle them. Golding's teams are always well prepared and well-conditioned.

I normally could give two shites about basketball at any level but I’ve tried to follow the team this year because it felt like Shaka, who I absolutely love as a person and representative of our university, was doing something exciting. I really hope they come back and win this game but it feels like another case of being out-coached when it matters. I know the matchup is one our scheme and roster doesn’t necessarily do well against but come on man, it’s Abilene Christian. I also know anything can happen in the tournament and there have already been plenty of jaw-dropping upsets in the first round, but come on man, it’s Abilene Christian. At the ten minute mark in the second half it’s been a clear case of us playing poorly and looking lost. I love the guy but, similar to Charlie Strong, you gotta win at the end of the day even with great character.

One of the smaller teams in the tournament is out rebounding the Horns. Acu knows how to block out. Horns are in trouble

Sundance Kid: hey Butch!
Butch Cassidy: What?
Sundance Kid: They’re very good!

(as members of their gang are getting picked off by the posse)

Somehow that bit of dialogue came to mind while watching this game

Horns better get real serious and focus if they want to win this one ... almost 6 min. left and and another turnover..

Ramey has the yips. There's no way someone could play so well against KU twice and be this phenomenally bad in all these other games. It's got to be mental.

Jericho’s got to crash the boards.

From where midcourt? At this point, I would challenge any member of the coaching staff to prove that anyone looked at five minutes of film on ACC. Do these players have an assignment on either offense or defense? I've seen better organized pickup games involving 10 year olds. This is absurd.

Move your feet, arms up, block out, follow your shot, hustle, etc - all stuff my coach in fifth grade taught us...
