3 Cheers for our good ally Israel! Est. 1200 BC

Re the Middle East: for years we say no new settlements. Netanyahu does it anyway and more Palestinians get displaced. Can’t imagine why they feel bad about losing their homes. There is a huge opposition movement among Israeli Jews that has come within a hair of displacing Netanyahu several times. Our media has not paid a lot of attention to this and most Americans seem to be unaware of it.
Neither the Jews or Palestinians are going anywhere. Netanyahu and his followers are not keen on a settlement and one cannot occur while he has the reins

root plowing Hamas has its charms but they have embedded themselves among a mass of high density areas and a lot of innocents are collaterally damaged/—-I.e., killed.
That is why a lot of people are upset. Not all or most of our protesters are genocidal antisemites

that being said, occupation of universities needs to be quashed immediately. Students who persist need to be expelled for a few years and non students need to be issued trespass warnings if the woke County Attorney will not prosecute

All I know that because of these leftists protesters, the average person is going to care less about Palestinians, not more.

I second everything you said here huisache. Well said.

My recollection is that NASA had an explosion on the launch pad that killed the Astronauts about two weeks prior to the premier of "The Reluctant Astronaut", which was scheduled to premier in Clear Lake. Screen Gems (???) quickly moved the opening to Capital Plaza Cinema and arranged a "Miss Reluctant Astronaut" contest with the winner receiving a screen test. Farrah was very reluctantly entered and won.

While that screen test did not produce any acting jobs, it was seen by the marketing department of Clairol (??), who signed her as the face (actually the hair) of their new product line. From that series of commercials, she skyrocketed to fame.

Had she had her choice, she would not have cut summer school class to go to the contest, but Greg had a magical "hold" on her.

Remember that was summer of 67 or 68, and the old brain is foggy, so flame politely.

Classical beauty and ......... (something else).

Re: Don Knots--is he of the family that owned Knots Berry Farm?

When I was a little kid, I enjoyed the corny humor in Don Knots' family-friendly films and the Andy Griffith Show. When I got a bit older, I grew to appreciate Farah.

So how does all this stuff relate to Israel and Gaza?

I'll tell you how:

Farah is an Arab name.

Ben Sasse, President of University of Florida has the right idea about protesting
"What we tell all of our students, protesters and non, is, there are two things we're going to affirm over and over again. We will always defend your right to free speech and free assembly, and, also, we have time, place, and manner restrictions. You don't get to take over the whole university. People don't get to spit at cops," Sasse said.

"You don't get to barricade yourselves in buildings. You don't get to disrupt somebody else's commencement. We don't allow protests inside."

here is what confused me
"And so you can't start to build an encampment, but our goal is not to arrest people. It's to help them get into compliance with the rules. "
Does he think talking and explaining will solve the problem? Not from what has been shown so far

Can’t believe this is being aired:

Liberal arrogance is pathological. They are openly stating their desires and they want outsiders to gain entrance to our country. It's obvious. I can't believe we have so many emo people in this country but apparently we do; that's the only reason they are winning.

That and Trump's stupidity at times.

Just as things were moving closer to a potential cease-fire agreement, Hamas went and did this:

Hamas attacked Israel's main crossing point for delivering humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip on Sunday, dealing a blow to the ongoing crease-fire efforts that appear at an impasse with both sides blaming each other.

The attack on Israel's Kerem Shalom crossing killed three Israeli soldiers and wounded several others, three of whom were critically wounded, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces said Sunday. The attack prompted officials to close the terminal, disrupting critical shipments of food and other humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Do you trust those people?

Palestinian Arabs, including Gazans, have blown up dozens of chances for peace over the years, including multiple shots at 2 state solutions. They'll advance the ball down to the 1 yard line and fumble it every time.

A United Nations report in March presented evidence that rape, including gang rape, had likely occurred during the October 7 Hamas onslaught, that “clear and convincing” evidence shows that hostages were raped while being held in Gaza, and that those currently held captive were still facing such abuse

Patten said that based on her evidence-gathering, there are reasonable grounds to believe that “rape and gang rape” occurred during the October 7 attacks in at least three locations: the Supernova music festival site, Kibbutz Re’im, and along the nearby Route 232.

In most such instances, she said, evidence shows that victims were “first subjected to rape and then killed,” noting as well “two incidents” pointing to the rape of women’s corpses.

The music festival grounds, Patten said, was the site of “brutal mass murders,” noting that many bodies were found extensively burned or disfigured, and that there was also a “recurring pattern of victims found fully or partially undressed, bound and shot.”

And now it enters a whole new level of ****** up...

"Hamas changed cease-fire deal to let them include bodies of dead hostages in prisoner swap"

Hamas changed ceasefire deal to count dead hostages: report

But one of the biggest changes reportedly came in the language around the 33 Israeli hostages who were set to be released in exchange for a cease-fire.

While the original deal called for 33 living hostages, Hamas changed the wording to include 33 hostages “alive or bodies,” officials told public broadcaster KAN TV.
