2024 Volleyball

Malcolm,

Would you please post updates. For some reason my ESPN app is saying it isn't included in my package, which has worked for multiple years.

Blast it. Girls have some work ahead of them. It’s hard for me to imagine they allowed that #12 to be so dominant. I think they are going to have to come up with a definite rotation quickly.

This team is in a bad bad way.Lose another at home. I dont know. Maybe hitting the road for the next 5 will help.
Who knows. But right now we're closer to #25 than we are to #1.

We are struggling to put the ball on the floor. Hitting % is way down this year. The only thing I can of think of its more mental, like we expect to not play well down the stretch in matches lately. And it seems to be affecting every phase of our game.
For me, inspite of all that, we are Winners, Defending Champions until we are not. See y'all in Mississippi.
Hookem :ut:

I see a lot of subpar passing, leading to a lot of subpar sets, contributing to poor hitting percentages. Add to that, inconsistent hitters even with adequate sets, and we're really sputtering.

Sabre I'm sorry, I'm just now reading this.
As you probably already know the updates were not very good. But I will never give up on Texas Volleyball. We just have too much talent to be playing this average. We are still the only team that can refer to themself as Defending Champions. Soon we will play like it!! :bevo:

Would someone please explain the 6-2 alignment that the team now uses. Jerritt thought 6-2 was a better fit for their skills - and installed it after we lost 2 or 3 matches this year, IIRC. Announcer at the Missouri match said no team has won a championship with 6-2 since 2002.

Watching the OU match … I saw lots of open space for easy kills in the middle of our court, 3 OU blockers in front of Skinner (and the opposite-Skinner side is inconsistent), serves hitting Emma in the knees, Ella is not on the floor, service errors at inopportune times. The OU match was over when they won the 4th - you could see the body language on both sides. OU was on a run knew we would fold in the 5th.

Expected the team to need some re-tooling after two years of superior players and outstanding play, plus we have the novelty of playing new teams in a new conference, but they seem to have lost their way.

Oddly I felt the same and that’s not good to be right about. Certainly not my old Texas teams.

Teams have smelled blood in the water. Go back and look at the gaggie amd missouri matches.

Teams are not intimadated at all.
We had the same body language.
The Greg has not been nice this year.

Horn lose set three 25-21. The usual issues did the Horns in. The dogs pumped and full of confidence going into set 4.

Wow, the script was “kill by Skinner” the entire 2nd half of 4th set! Way to go ladies. Nice recovery and regain of dominance.

Coach is still tinkering. Went back to the 5-1. No Devin till set 3. Swindle did not play at all . No Rutherfoed in set 4.
Binney came in and served a lot.
A few wewks ago was talking about coach " unleashing" Devin's serve. Well she hasn't served in 2 games.

Was this a " got it fixed" game ?

Curious to see where we go from here.
