2024/25 Portal Transfers

Sark is always working. Our program is in good hands.

I'm fairly certain he has gotten ears and ears full of special teams feedback from every which direction to help him make this decision. I'm hopeful place kicker is next on the list because beyond 40 yds we're below 50% on the year and that's downright awful.

FWIW, Jeff Ward claims he can fix our kicking problems in a 10 minute session. He said what the fix is but I'm to kicker dumb to comprehend.

Purdue DT Cole Brevard
Former Arkansas LB Brad Spence
Georgia Tech WR Eric Singleton

IT mentioned Georgia Tech WR Eric Singleton, Jr. is not a lock for Georgia despite chatter saying otherwise.

Auburn is another team being talked about because one of the recruiters he was close with in high school is Kenyatta Watson, Sr., who now works in Auburn's recruiting department after leaving Georgia Tech.

If you guys recall, Kenyatta Watson Jr. was here as a S for a year.

Max Klare was just a sophomore last year. His junior year will be even better which I hope will be here.
Klare and his parents are making a visit to A&M today. Some crazy stories already around his recruiting but it sounds like Texas is at/near the top of his list. This one isn't necessarily going to come down to the highest bidder but rather which team has the right scheme for a TE and the right QB in place for the next two years to throw to Max.

Ding ding ding... I know a team!

Interesting factor in our favor is that our road cames at Oh State and Kentucky next year are both within 100 miles of Max hometown so lots of friends and family could travel easily to see him play.

Australians are basically British Texans
Yes. In a way.... Canadians are the least feral of the detached western band of Celts, Saxons, and Germanics. Next come us - Americans - and then the Australians. I spent a little time in Queensland back in the '80s and rural southern and central Queensland felt more like central and southern Texas than any place I've ever been. Texas ranchers could talk to Australian ranchers and farmers and feel comfortable. It looks like central and south Texas. The critters, though, are far more dangerous, even in the water.

New P commitment Jack Bouwmeester talks Texas (247):

"I picked Texas because I like how Coach (Jeff) Banks runs his punt," Bouwmeester told Horns247. "It's pro-style, being able to spiral more, and just trying to put myself in a better situation to go to the next level. Also in my grad year I wanted to get a master's degree and Texas is obviously a very good academic program as well. Academics played a big part as well."

"I was talking to other schools but I kind of visited Texas thinking that a visit was going to solidify things,"
he said. "I wanted to go down and meet everyone and tick all the boxes."

"I knew that I wanted to go to the SEC. As soon as I started talking with Texas I knew that was definitely going to be the right fit for me schematically and academically. It was just about dotting the i's and crossing the t's."
:Coach Sark's awesome,"
Bouwmeester said. "He's got a passion for special teams. I had dinner with the specialists. They just said how good of dude he is. Just lets you kind of do your own thing, but he loves you as well. He said how much he loves specialists and how big of an impact you can have on a game."

"I think when I started at Michigan State I was still young at 19,"
he said. "I guess it's a different dynamic for Australians. I think being a little bit older helps us out a little bit. You're just a bit more mature and able to make better decisions being that far away from home. When I started at Michigan State to now there's a definitely a lot of difference. I went home from Michigan State during Covid. Coming back to Utah I think that just helped me maturity-wise. I'm a bit older now but it's helped me as well in the locker room dynamic, being more of a leader. Coming in being able to work with (Michael) Kern and help him out. Obviously he's still a freshman. Being able to help him and make things seamless for him in his second season. It's a tough position and it does take time. Making the room better as a whole is probably my main goal."

A mod from Ole Miss 247 claims Arkansas TE Luke Hasz will visit Texas soon.

I believe that would be a first. I don't think there has ever been a player from Bixby on a Longhorn team. I thought Jim Ross & Cowboy Bill Watt had that town locked down. Maybe Venables revoked Ross' sideline pass.
