I’m at the same stage right now. I know it’s still early but all the top talent is coming off the board and if they are still in the portal we aren’t in their list of final schools. You would think we would clean up in the portal but so far we aren’t doing so well and I don’t want to settle for less than when all the top talent is gone.I really want to believe and I'm trying to hold back my commentary, but it's getting harder by the day. I'll stay quiet and hopefully something will shake out soon. We need some top talent transfers.
Great information. Thanks! That probably took some time to put together. Let's revisit this at the end of May and see where we're at.Borrowed this data from another poster, but you can see how late in the cycle
all of our players from last years team committed. I am anxious too but I need to just chill and let the staff work. More players entering the portal all the time as well.

Unfortunately Texas isn’t in the running for him. Texas is looking to get Abrams from oral Roberts.Tyler Perry from UNT is near the top of my wish list.
It’s quiet because nobody is worrying as much as you seem to be. Terry is a great coach and the man for the job. Everything will be just fine I promise. Why are you acting as if Beard did everything on his own? As Terry said he recruited 3 of our starters last year so he will get his guys just give it time. We all want things to happen now but that’s just unrealistic at this time. Its ironic that its crickets from the "we have to move fast to keep rt crowd". Right now he is just what he has always been, a mid level coach. Yes this team loved him but that doesnt make you a good coach. It makes you likable but for 3m+ you better produce. I am certain that shaka and if we played beard next year they would have a field day with rt. Saw he is bringing back Frank Haith. Not sure if thats good or not. Dont recall Haith being very successful on his own either. Lets hope we dont lose more kids and hopefully we can pick up a few more.
If this is true, it's too bad. That kid is very efficient on offense, not certain of his defensive capabilities, but he seemed to be to be another SirJabari starter kit.Unfortunately Texas isn’t in the running for him. Texas is looking to get Abrams from oral Roberts.
Guys here is the only stat I look at:Yes, JJ, one of legend's primary themes against Rodney Terry has been that "some coaches are great as assistants, but not cut out for the HC role". He has made multiple arguments suggesting this is the case for RT.
Yet now that RT has hired coach Haith, who was a FABULOUS assistant to Rick Barnes, and an ace recruiter for him - but didn't do all that well as a head coach, legend somehow twists this into a negative against Rodney Terry too. For me, this logical inconsistency only reinforces my belief that legend simply doesn't like RT, never has, and probably never will, so every time he posts about RT it will contain the most negative and pessimistic outlook about the man and his program possible.
I wondered if he was headed to ole miss as well. Big loss to Texas so hopefully we can find some replacement but we also lost Brumbaugh.I thought one of the strong points in favor of Terry was that the players loved him. Guess that was only partially true. Morris tweet or instagram saying he wanted to go somewhere he could develop his basketball skills ( something to that effect anyway) is not confidence inspiring. On the other hand he just may need to leave the state. He could transfer to ole’ miss and reunite with his fellow traveler.
Terry isn't an idiot, but 2023-24 is going to be rough. We could pull 5-6 of the 2nd tier portal guys and still have a very mediocre season.
We're kind of banking on Hunter returning to be the primary PG, Disu to be "the man," Cunningham to put in more minutes, and Anamekwe to bring some of that intensity he had in HS. Beyond that? We're pretty much ending up with either garbage Power-5 guys or mid level DI kids who weren't getting noticed at weak programs.
