2023 Texas Rangers

Rangers just don’t match up well with them.
If the Rangers can continue the excellent offense they've had so far in the playoffs, I think they can match the Astros for hitting. Pitching is iffy, but improved over a month ago. If the Rangers can win one of the first two in Houston, they have a reasonable shot at taking the series.

Rangers blow out Phillies today to keep the undefeated start and go to 2-0 with the chance to sweep the season opening series tomorrow.
Interesting - the World Series could be a repeat of the opening series.

12 games in this Texas team shows signs of being a .500 or better team. I don't see the realistic possibility of challenging for the division absent a complete collapse by Houston or really even being in the wild card hunt come September but a season over .500 would be huge progress so lets see.
Sand bagger!

Whoa Carter grab for deep out!!!

And double play on Altuve error tagging up!!!

2 outs!

3 outs baby - going T9th !!

Let's get some insurance runs!!!

Bullpen came through BIG TIME!!!

Verlander is probably their ACE and we took a game from him.

Evan Carters' aggressiveness to get a double and eventually score a run was HUGE!!!

6 dominant wins a row!

HOWEVER, Astros are WS Champs - I know they are far from done in this series....

The Texas pitching and defense tonight were absolutely top notch and the offense had just enough to win another pitchers duel in this playoff run. That’s six straight post season wins but as much as that was fun, it is just one game in this series and there is a long road to get to four wins. One down though and it’s a start. Eovaldi tomorrow can hopefully continue his playoff magic and if the bats can come to life………..

LETS GO RANGERS!:texasflag:

IIRC, Astros hit lefties better so Bochy gambled today with probably his hottest lefty - Montgomery. It worked.

Now, Righty and hot Eovaldi pitches Monday PM.

Wouldn't it be delicious if Eovaldi and the Rangers got the win Monday and came back to Globe Life Wed. 2-0!?

Huge win for Texas - in Houston and against Verlander. Wow. There goes Houston's home field advantage. I still suspect Houston will win the series, but if Texas wins today, my prediction is going to have to change.

They played better on the road...not sure I would say Houston had a home-field advantage this year...

It also doesn't help when the league gets to dictate roof open or roof closed.

It's time for the Astros to tell Maldy thank you for your service and start Diaz. The 8-9 hitters for Texas are way better!
