2023 Recruiting - WBB

Cedar Park's school colors are Black and Green; so, why is their a burnt orange Nike swoosh on those new sneakers?

I don't know but Gisella Maul is one heck of a player. Easily a top 25 player in her class. Her motor is non stop and is also being followed by Elena so I'm glad Elena and this staff have their eye on her

She is a lock for Texas! believe me, they have been Texas fans for as long as I can remember. It was just a matter of getting the offer.
I’ve been looking through some of the congratulatory tweets to Coach McEntire and her dad’s profile shows up a lot in the Likes.

Hi JJ. Are you suggesting Boutilier was offered? I get it, she's 6-9. But is she mobile enough for this system?

I don't know about everyone else, but my twitter settings changed a few days ago. So, my viewings no longer list the most recent "following" or "followers" at the top of the list anymore. Seems like either Charli Collier or Angel Reese (Maryland) are always at the top for everyone (coaches, recruits); not sure if it's alphabetical, or just random. So, I'll be of no use with any helpful hints by way of twitter stalking unless those settings return to normal for me.

Before my twitter settings changed, I did notice something unusual (coincidental) the other day. Both of our 2022 verbal commitments (Amina and Jordana) had very recently started following 2023 Cori Allen (5'10 G, Nashville, TN) on twitter, and vice verse. Allen has recent offers from Georgia Tech, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, and Virginia. I thought also that Coach McEntire started following Allen recently on twitter, but I can't remember for certain.

Allen's father played hoops at Tennessee, but most Lady Vols fans think she's heading out of state.

Perhaps Amina and/or Jordana recently met Cori on the high school club circuit or something.

Sorry to hear that - mine has always been random so I was a bit envious of those who could see them sorted by time.

When viewing twitter on my laptop (prior to just a few days ago), the sort order seemed to be (pretty reliably) most recent at the top. On my phone, the sort order always seemed totally random.

I didn't know that was possible for twitter, I thought it was just instagram that was able to sort like that. Mine always shows mutual followers first then after that it's very random and in no order but yea Jordana and Cori are pretty close due to summer ball and of course Janiah Barker plays on the same team as Jordana. She is a once in a generation player so if Texas can somehow get Barker to the list and add Allen then that is a pretty elite team in their first year.

Has anyone seen any evidence (Tweets from recruits) that we have extended offers to any players in the 2023 class? If not, is it likely that offers will start going out after our Elite Camp later this month?

So far our list of targets include:

Dalanna Carter - Houston Texas

Aalyah Del Rosario - New Jersey

Rylee Gray's - Houston Texas

I believe the two out of Houston are players our former staff were looking at. Del Rosario is the one I know for sure is from Vic.

Sammie Wagner posted on her Instagram that she plans on visiting UT this month. Also plans on visiting Baylor, LSU, Arizona, Texas A&M, and Stanford. Just visited USC and Oregon.

Wants to narrow her list down before September 1, then commit late junior or early senior year.

Big time visitor today. Scroll through the photos—it looks like she’s genuinely enjoying her visit.

She doesn’t like to play defense which I always thought would hinder her progress at BU. My feelings wouldn’t change if she started wearing burnt orange
So is your opinion that she doesn’t like to play defense from watching her??? Vic sure doesn’t seem concerned about it. She knows, as does every potential recruit, that you gotta play D to play for Vic..... She’s an exceptional talent!!!

Yes, I've seen many Regan games over the past 2 season and she is a tremendous offensive talent. Any high level D1 program will take her based on that alone (as they should). My concern more so for her was that if she did choose Texas but did not improve on and learn to enjoy the defensive side of the ball it would end up being a less than ideal situation for all involved.

And that's what the portal is for these days.

Pretty sure if there's mutual interest between any recruit and a coaching staff, both sides are fully aware of any possible "challenges." As for Vic, he makes his expectations very clear.

Agree completely. He wouldn’t play his own daughter until she improved defensively.

Wonder if Chloe Clardy will swing by Texas next after unofficially visiting Baylor just like Kiersten Johnson did; she was teammates with Aaliyah Moore and Kyndall Hunter on Cy-Fair Elite.

She also visited FSU and Florida a few days ago.

Montaya Dew, 6’2” F from Nevada, was at the Elite Camp. She is the #23 rated player in the 2023 class by ESPN/HoopGurlz. (She is standing in the back, right corner of the frame.)

She is followed by all three assistant coaches, Phillips, Jackson-Durrett and McEntire.
