What am I missing? He's 300+ pounds, threw the shot a whopping 39 feet, and ran a 5.4 forty. What does he bench? 145

He looks quick, but against whom? Was that some kind of Nike camp or his HS teammates?

I learned from Coach Bill Michael not to watch hi-lite tapes, but watch every play of every game the kid plays, and understand the level of competition. This kid may be all that and an order of fries, but the original post about his shot was less than impressive. Hell, there are kids in junior high in Houston throwing that, and they don't weigh 350 pounds.

Of course, I haven't seen the kid live or on tape, and he does have offers. There are two types of offers:

1) Talented, real deal, can't miss

2) "Nebraska offers" - groom him for 3 years and hope you get two years of him playing.

Again, his quickness is impressive

Importantly, he will be committing during the dead period. That means no more visits prior to the decision. That means it is unlikely for there to be any major swings and it seems all signs point to Texas currently.

#Alabama and #Texas are working together, paying recruits to not attend #TexasAM.

Texas and Bama combined don't have enough money to keep recruits away from College Station so they should be fine

I have to wonder again if all of the rumors and negative publicity surrounding that program in College Station is having or will have a detrimental effect. It can’t be helping them.
