2023 Recruiting - Football

Is it beneficial to be from a smaller state to achieve five stars?

It appears the rankings are an amalgamation of state, position and national scores.

I'm also betting OU. I'd be happy to get him but this one feels like its going the other way.
We're still in on Hale and Pilot. Pilot is essentially the same wr as Pettaway. In any event his recruitment never really gained much traction.

While I would like Texas to get Errrbody, at least this is not a position of need for 2023. Cook and Niblett are top 100 studs in the same mold. Jonah Wilson fills a different need at WR and Texas is still in the hunt for other top guys.

Good get for the gooners.

As well as multiple TEs.

Of all the recruits we have recruited thus far and the recruits that have not verbally committed yet, which one do you consider the most valuable to the team as a player. So this excludes Manning's effect on drawing in other recruits.
I think i am going to go with Anthony Hill.

According to IT, recent OL offer Miles McVay of East St. Louis, IL will be at the recruiting BBQ in a few weeks.

Miles McVay, East St. Louis, Offensive Tackle
That dude is HUGE. His pass-blocking lateral movement looked pretty decent for a young man of his size, and his drive power was obvious and overwhelming. Sounds like we'll be head-to-head vs Mich State for him. My only question is: Do you think he will be tough enough--coming from such a cushy neighborhood?:confused::confused::confused:

He seems like he would be a nice addition. I approve of this addition if he verbals to us.

Yea, that Sonny Liston kid came from that cushy neighborhood, and he was a pushover. I lived across the river and visited East St. Louis after hours a time or two. Not smart; one of the worst towns in America in the '60's. I will say one thing. If he grew up in East St. Louis, he should have developed good foot speed at an early age.

As long as he doesn't accept a bribe to throw a fight he'll be good.

On Osborne, he wants in the Alabama class if five-star DL Peter Woods of Alabaster, AL doesn't choose Alabama tomorrow.

If Woods does go Alabama, that would leave Osborne down to Tennessee vs. Texas, but it seems this one is still trending away from Texas due to some indecisiveness.

IT saying OL Miles McVay of East St. Louis, IL plans to commit on August 11th.

Needless to say, the staff will need to make a huge impression on him, but encouraging so far that he chose to visit Texas on the one recruiting weekend in July before the entire month of August is a dead period.
