2023 Recruiting - Football

Yes, how could I possibly have missed such obvious enthusiasm? It’s often difficult to discern anything other than the constant teaching of lessons that we’re all here to apparently learn from you.

Here’s one: it is not always about the words one types or uses, but instead about the inferences gathered by those who read or hear them. “Perhaps” I am not the only one who missed the point.

Perhaps you are not the mind-reader you think you are. Why don't you stick to football recruiting which is what this page is about, If you want to argue and insult, I can meet you over on Reddit.

It gets old when these threads get sidetracked for long periods by butt hurt folks, I don’t mind a couple of back and forth but damn. Let’s get back to the topic please.

I agree with hornsupremacy. I wrote about your excessive and unnecessary negativity a long time ago. It was bad then and you are still doing it. Its like you have something against people being happy about something, in our context, its about recruiting success. Yes we have more 3 stars than i would like to have and our average rating puts us around 5 or 6 but we are doing really well recruiting to go along with last years class. Its time to rejoice not to be a party pooper. Yes there is work still to be done to win it all but the ship is turning around. It started with new coaches and now we are getting better players.
I think if you won a hundred million dollar lottery you would be sad that it wasnt two hundred million dollars.

Not really, Poms, it's just a style of analyzing and writing. I'm pretty clinical. I'm not against anyone being happy, I'm just not a sunshine pumper, either. I find it ironic how all this flamed up after I wrote a positive, seemingly self deprecating post about UTs position in the top 10 in average star rating, somewhat contradicting my previous concerns. I was pretty happy we were at 7 with the 3 stars I had been discussing. Again, style I suppose. We can't all be Mary Poppins.

This

Enough of the personal stuff here. If you don't like someone's posts you can put them on Ignore. Stay on topic here.

I'm holding offers for...

Cedric Baxter, Jr, RB
Jaquaize Pettaway, WR or Jalen Hale, WR (maybe not held for both)
Duce Robinson, TE
Zalance Heard, OT
Dalton Brooks, Ath

Javien Toviano, CB
Malik Muhammad, CB
Anthony Hill, LB
David Hicks, DT

I think if they all said yes, we'd figure that out. Not that they will.

Who all are we looking at this recruiting cycle for interior DTs?

you are reading my mind. It looks like we have the offensive beef but DL is numero #1B if not #1A on the priority list and I haven’t seen much other than some edge guys. Who are the beef guys in the middle of the line??

IT made a comment that there were roughly 11 spots left with this class. 27-28 commits for this class expected, however they said that with the 25 limit no longer in place they will possibly get into the 30s. Said staff will make the numbers work down the line.

We gave several offers out for DL. Ive posted those I know of on here. Scroll back.

Pettaway is all okie.. Will have to fight gaggie for Toviano, Hill and Hicks. Have not heard much on Brooks. Robinson will be here for bama. Unfortunately they are in the mix for him so we better show. Lsu is fighting hard to keep Heard.

It's hard to get a head the new world of the transfer portal, little school loyalty and 'no long term promises'. However, I think Sark has gotten his head around it pretty well and just figures it cuts both directions. Bring in 35 guys per year and jettison the least productive/desirable 35 to make room for the new ones. It's a brave new world.

That's been the Alabama way all along, right?

It seems like Hill & Hicks are the types of players we miss on, and TAM doesn’t. If we get (and keep) one of them — or both — to
me that will signal a possible shift in the state power base.
