2023 Recruiting - Football

You have to think the 23 class will see opportunities where they can contribute right away. Arch showing up is huge for the kids on the fence, don’t let todays performance dictate your future.

The core of our two MNC’s, 1969 & 1970, came after 3 consecutive 6-4 seasons. Few (NONE) remember rumblings that the game had passed by DKR. The Worster Bunch were certainly not of the ‘me too’ generation. Now, if a team quits ( see Mackovic and Strong teams) or current day OU and aTm, that’s a different matter. If I’m a stud recruit, I see a graduating DB bunch, no great LBs coming back, need for DL’s and a depleted WR group. Or, at least one needing more speed. As an RB, I see the bones of the best OL in football in a year or two. Did anybody see Harold Perkins(who we narrowly missed) eat Arkansas alive? If we had him (or A.Hill next year) our D can be awesome. Football players, real football players, are about building championships not joining late and basking in unearned glory. Give this young team a break, curb the bitching (nobody on this board has anything more than a ***** forum of power) and support another recruiting brick to the wall. Hell, I’m old and have reason for impatience, but take a deep breath and let the process work. Apparently, PK has learned how to coach a defense. Most likely not from internet bitching!

Real players and coaches do not look at one game results the way fans do. It's as simple as that.

Excellent observations. And the HS studs can envision a chance to play with a very talented bunch of upperclassmen and compete for titles. Those are the studs we want on campus.

Sometimes you’d rather be lucky than good. I believe we landed Banks and Campbell because Cristobal left Oregon. If we get Hill (and it sure seems promising) it will be because of the Aggie meltdown.

To me Hill would be the defensive equivalent of getting Arch Manning.

Banks yes. Campbell was always coming here. Between the end of his soph season till his commitment he was on campus 8-10 times.

TFB had a report on LB Anthony Hill, Jr. of Denton Ryan and their confidence in Texas landing him has increased since the TCU game.

While a win would've been the ideal scenario, the defense having an outstanding performance was big for his recruitment.

They were 50/50 confidence and are now at about 70% in Texas' favor.

Especially if they can catch the ball when it hits them in the hands.

That always helps. I can't help but wonder the what if's had those balls been caught. I think each one of them was a first down (at a minimum). Just drive killers. Confidence killers. Everybody frustrated.

It’s funny how many people still ask about the Chicken Ranch and where it is.
Last i heard some eantrapaneu bought the building, moved it to Dallas & opened a chicken resturaunt. That was yrs ago. Thank you Dolph Brisco for destroying a Texas legend & for ruining the ONLY social entertainment for aggy.
