2023 Recruiting - Football

Number 1 this and number 1 that I love it but we better start winning a bunch of damn games if we expect Mr Number One to stick around the program
Yeah, we need Mack-style win streaks at home, beating ranked teams on the road, etc

when Baxter bulks up and gains about 10 or 15 pounds he's gonna be a hoss.
i love his mental makeup to go along with his athleticism.
i think this is one determined dude. He is going to be a leader in due time.
too bad Roschon and Bijon wont be here to mentor

Maybe Bijan is smart enough to realize NIL money spends just as well as NFL money, and makes a Ricky-like decision to stay for this Senior season.
Regardless of the overwhelming consensus, I don’t believe it’s a done deal that Bijan leaves after this season. NIL has changed the calculation, and from a social/enjoyment standpoint, how could anyone beat another year at the University of Texas? Driving a Lambo? Being an icon. It doesn’t get much better than that. Ask Ricky.

Now, I’m not so sure that Jonathan Brooks or Jaydon Blue would be in the “Bijan Stay” camp.

I'm thinking about setting up a tree stand somewhere on Red River to take care of any aspiring rap stars/sports agents loitering in the area...

Would a player who makes good NIL money be able to pay for his own way to free up a scholarship? Wouldn’t that open up a can of worms.

It's definitely gonna' be big boy ball from now on... look at Alabama's 2023 list of OL commits:

If I searched correctly, here are the averages for NFL OL:

Avg. Height: 76.75 in Avg.
Weight: 314.16 lbs

So being a really large human doesn’t always translate at the next level.

Yeah its a different level of football. Size matters more I think in the college game. Defensive players just aren't as explosive and no one team save maybe a couple have enough explosive defensive players to neutralize the size of a big OL with athleticism, speed and technique.

uh, i guess. That is, if 6’5”
and 315 is now not considered a “really large human.”
