2023 Portal Recruiting (Opens December 5th)

Again I ask, does entering the portal mean not playing in bowl game? Thinking of OSU when I ask.
I found this thing called Google on my laptop. ;)

“It is at the coach’s discretion,” an NCAA compliance source explained. “It might be weird, but going into the portal does not automatically remove a player from the eligible roster, though many schools wouldn’t play the player.”
Players in the transfer portal can play in bowl games

He gained no traction while at Bama, and I don't know if Herman completely broke or just fractured the relationship with the Brockermeyer family.

Personally I would be inclined to offer him, but I don't have a clue as to the insider details.

Bama has recruited several linemen with equal or greater potential. He chose bama due to Hand and Herman. As I've noted on a couple of threads over the last couple of years , Hand and Herman drove OL recruiting into the dirt.
The Brocks love Flood.
It was believed that we wouldn't be after any OL this time around unless it was a center. Word is Brock can play center.
Another thing to watch for is bama T Javian Cohen that has portalled has reportedly reached out to Tx. and he was a Flood favorite. Have to see how this all plays out.

So after a player has gone to 3 different major schools and enters the portal Maybe the player needs to look in the mirror.
My thoughts exactly. This is getting ridiculous. The best proven players will find a new school but with over 1,000 players and counting this cycle, some of these guys are going to either quit playing altogether or transfer to lower divisions.

#LaTech standout wide receiver Tre Harris is in the transfer portal. He had 65 receptions for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He was first-team All-CUSA this season after earning honorable mention all-league honors in 2021.

No the Brazos dried up and let ALL the aggy portals walk across like it was the border
If they're all portaling to UTSA, that might lower the quality of 'Runner football & drop the average IQ of the student body at large. Maybe they will all proceeded to Alpine & Sul Ross.

That still doesn't explain SA not ranking in the Texas top 4.

Bishop, some?…. Most are dropping down a division or will no longer play again.

Yep. I was just trying to be nice by saying some. Agree probably the majority will not get a lateral move or higher.
I know- instead of staying and buckling down and overcoming, these kids go to a school to start over?
Can you imagine being an above average player then showing up at State U to fit in and hope to take a starting position from a kid who worked for it? His teammates aren’t going to help you until you earn the right.
You had better be significantly better.

I do get someone like Card leaving. But Worthy? Or even Omiere?
Washington goes to Nebraska and starts, but he might have been better served here.
