2023-24 Transfer Portal Thread (CLosed-Opens APRIL 15TH)

The last Iowa QB I remember who produced big numbers was Chuck Long and he turned out to be a cancer MD Anderson couldn't cure.

Wow. As usual, Sark makes it happen. I wonder if Bowens from Oregon is still in play. I’m guessing that he is…with four years of eligibility left, we need him.

Bowens is being viewed as "depth. Lole is going to be expected to compete for starter status.
We'll see where it goes.

Starkville to Northwestern??? With deference to my friend in Seattle, the tutor that can help him make that academic transition hasn't been born yet.

So The University System has Medical School in Dallas, Houston, Galveston, San Antonio; could we please pack up the Psychology & Psychiatric Departments and send them to Indianapolis to try to restore & maintain some semblance of sanity.

1) You get one trip through the portal in five years. After that you repay the original university for all your expenses

2) Dealing with, meeting with, engaging with agents (street or otherwise) you lose you eligibility, BUT are not eligible to sign with NFL until your college eligibility would have been up.

Unconstitutional? Sure, but so is most of the other ******** rules/laws implemented. (see also Metro in Harris County, but that would have bankrupt V&E and Fulbright)

Given that we have three scholarships to give (currently at 82), is it likely that Sark will end up signing a punter. I'd hate to go into a possible championship season relying on a true freshman to be your punter.

All gas, no brakes don’t need a stinking punter.

Better than having to put an ad in the Daily Texan (does it still exist) for a punter. Anybody remember DKR doing that?

Good thing Erxleben read the paper that day, isn't it? ;)

I think he was playing QB for Seguin Junior High at that time. Wealthy kid from River Oaks or Tanglewood showed up for tryouts & won the job. He would have been the last person I would have thought ever lettered in football.

Before that, I remember DKR not wanting Bradley to punt in practice, so he had Benny Pace P for K in practice. Benny could throw a ball a hundred yards and above the lights not to mention put it wherever Coach Royal wanted it.
