2022 Softball Season

That was a better offensive looking team than this weekend. And thats without parker in the line up. We are a really deep team.

There is no way Coach White can keep Mia Scott out of the line up. She is just too good. 2 triples tonight that would have been doubles for most anyone else. I see Simpson playing a big role in the success of our season this year. It will be interesting to see if he will leave anyone at home this weekend against ranked teams.

It sure won’t be Simpson or Scott after the performance they put on today

I’m genuinely curious what made Mike White go with O’Leary instead of Dolcini? I don’t think she’s done a bad job at all just wondering if Dolcini gets the nod for this big game and O’Leary against Auburn.

Mike White punted this game as soon as he brought in Hulon. Nothing is more frustrating than watching him not actively try for a come back.

I guess Dolcini will go against Auburn. Not sure about UCLA.

It’s like he just gave up and the way we are hitting we are about to get run ruled. We do not play well in the state of Florida :rolleyes1:

At least Iakopo came to play

My preferred players that didn't start today would have been:
1. Burke at LF
2. Dolcini at pitcher
3. Cimusz or Smith at catcher

But maybe that's what we get for the Auburn game.

With Iakopo at first base and someone else at right field besides Whitaker. She’s more of a pitch hit type of player late in the game when a pitcher is a bit fatigued because she swings at every pitch outside of the zone and nothing right down the middle. I also would like to petition for Mia Scott to be our lead off hitter. Jefferson is in a big slump right now so to take some of the pressure off it would be beneficial to have Scott in the lead off spot.

Burn the tape. Burn the uniforms. Everything about today was sad.
The one word to describe the entire team against Auburn: Sleepwalking

Mike has got to quit putting players out in the OF purely based on their hitting potential. A couple of balls could have been caught with....like real OFs.

And please, quit allowing or teaching pop bunts!

This team will go as far as Janae Jefferson takes them. When she is down and out it affects the entire team because she’s in a slump and everyone else looks down. Complete offense reconstruction needs to happen because what we have done this season is not encouraging.

I almost never look at the tweet replies when Texas Softball tweets out. I expected to see a bunch of "You'll get them tomorrow" supportive tweets from Texas fans. Instead, I saw what a bunch of poor sports Auburn softball fans are.

Our pitchers so far in ranking:
1. Dolcini
2. Simpson
3. Czech
4. O'Leary
5. Hulon

From Fall ball, I got the feeling that O'Leary wasn't quite up to her previous standards. But I thought she would shake it off and get back into the grove. In fact, I think she's gotten worse than Fall ball.

I agree I was very impressed with Czech today and Simpson also did a great job in relief. I don’t think O’Leary did bad it’s just the errors that are costing us runs. O’Leary isn’t at her best and she would be great in relief at the moment but our biggest problem right now is our offense and our defensive errors that bring in runs. Our body language also looks defeated as well.

ERA's rising after yesterday, except Czech

1. When I saw that Mary was the catcher I said, "Well that's good for one error". Sure enough, WP and runner scores.

2. What's being said in the dugout that has the batters frozen in fear of swinging on strike 3? Veteran players just standing there in a trance taking strike 3

3. The maddest I've been in a while: Gilbert steps up to the plate and I say, "Don't bunt up, don't bunt up, don't bunt up" and she bunts up. This is a coach's bad call knowing she has been caught out on bunts all weekend and telling her to bunt.

4. Sophia Simpson is the real deal. After disappointments in the "next great new pitcher" of Grace Green and Ryleigh White, I'm shocked a freshman has come in and done so well. If only her defense could support her.

They need to do a lot of bunt practice in the next week bc this team isn't going to score a lot of runs and has to be able to move runners. Do any of our catchers actually try to block pitches? Megan Willis needs to come run a clinic.

Inconsistent zone from ump led to some of the called lookings, but still pretty pathetic.

Some thought we were being dramatic about these errors but look at what’s happening now. Yes teams are going to have errors but this is just ridiculous. This looks like we haven’t practiced a lick of defense before. Five errors in one inning is just sad to say the least. This team needs to hit the reset button and start from square one:facepalm:

At this level all of these ladies are very good athletes. I'm sure no one is taking the day off during defensive drills. What I know as a former athlete is errors are more mental than anything. Does anyone really think the coaches are not drilling the ladies enough or the athletes arent trying their best? I dont see the team panicing. This is still a very good team, errors and all. Lets calm down and enjoy the season.

Well whatever drills we are doing aren’t doing the job as this has been an ongoing issue for three years now but it has gotten progressively worse and what I’ve seen this season is by far the worse. Yes there is a lot of season to go but we are about to be 5-5 and 0-4 at this invitational. I guarantee over 90% of the runs scored against us are because of errors whether that be defensive errors or wild pitches. Can’t even count how many of those we’ve had this year.

I also think the team not panicking is part of the problem as of now. No emotion or fight is coming from this group so far even with big plays everyone just looks depressed. You’re only as good as your record shows and right now we don’t look like a top 15 team. We don’t even look like a top 50 team. I think it’s best I take a break from watching this team right now because, I’m definitely speaking out of anger which is coming from watching this team shoot them selves in the foot.

That's the most disguting softball I've ever seen. I kept looking for Connie, but only saw some dude with glasses that looked clueless.
