2022 Recruiting - Football

Sangre,

I wasn't sold on Vince until I went to see him play that Northshore game in the Dome. Two plays that game (and to this day) stick out in my mind. VY on a QB draw up the middle for about 50 yards during which he outran that big, fast Northshore defense.

OK , he can run, but can he throw the ball? VY takes the snap, is flushed out to his right, loops around back to the left and tucks the ball to run; just before he gets to the line of scrimmage, he raises that right arm and "flicks" the ball across the field and 35-40 yards downfield (probably 60-65 yards in the air) for a TD. I was sold on just those two plays.
I was there for that game also and was in awe of
VY. Texas was getting a good'n.

the Tulsa transfer player ... The McKinney High School prospect produced 29 tackles, one sacks, three pass deflections and a forced fumble in 2020. Texas should be right in the mix for the veteran who can have immdetiate impact.

Would be a nice get. Word is Mizzou has the edge at the moment. The whole sec sec thing.

Things still look great with LB Jeremy Patton of Tenaha according to IT, but his upcoming unofficial to LSU and camp visit to Alabama still need to be overcome by Sark and staff.

A source told them Alabama in particular is the problem because an offer there means he's headed to Tuscaloosa without hesitation.

An offer from Alabama isn't expected at this time, but that could change quickly if Patton tests well at their camp because his size is a no-brainer.

He may be a 3 star, but I would love to get this young man; a fantastic athlete.

IT reporting DT Bishop Thomas from Orlando, FL will be in Austin this weekend for an official.

He has a Texas offer.

Another camper to watch per 247 is WR Dillon Bell of the Houston Kinkaid School.

While he's always listed on offense, they're saying he has an LB build so Texas may see something they like for defense.

LB Niuafe Tuihalamake has confirmed he will be in Austin on June 3rd.

247 more confident now that Notre Dame will not have room for both Tuihalamaka and LB Sebastian Cheeks.

They believe there's a good chance Texas will be the beneficiary of a split.

Recent DE/LB offer Lander Barton from Salt Lake City, UT told IT he is speaking with the Texas coaches once or twice a week, and they believe a future visit is likely.

OrangeBloods spoke to the father of the S Bryan Allen, Jr. from Aledo and he said it would be difficult for Alabama to flip him due to the late offer and the family's solid relationship with Coach Gideon.

Bryan and his little brother, Jaden, who was just offered by UT will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend, and then they'll head to Austin on June 10th.

Texas is "very much in the hunt to win this recruitment", per IT.

Thomas moved to Orlando from New Orleans prior to the 2020 season, and the UT coaches have done a good job behind the scenes here.

Texas freshman DE Barryn Sorrell, also from New Orleans, has been helping on this one as well as the two chatted recently and Thomas liked what he heard.

OL Jacob Sexton from Edmond Okla. Announced he will be in Austin June 11-13 on an official visit.

Fun fact on Sexton is that his father is originally from Pampa (West Texas) and left the state to go play small college football in Oklahoma, where he eventually settled down.

Sexton admitted he grew up a Longhorns fan, and he got teased in school because he'd be the only kid wearing burnt orange.

May be something to watch here if you want to put your recruiting detective pants on.

The first guy (Talley) is a Penn State QB commitment, and the second guy (Nwankpa) is a highly-recruited safety out of Iowa who is thought to be headed to Ohio State.

Talley saying "spell it out" could be a troll reference to tOSU fans always saying O-H-I-O, and Nwankpa saying "down south" means the QB commitment is from Texas.

LSU OL coach supposedly let go for improper contact with recruits.

Anyone who believes this, I don't have a bridge to sell you, but I would like to talk to you about buying the land it sits on.

This **** doesn't happen in Baton Rouge- not in 2021, 1921. or 1821.

Unless the "improper contact" was with female athletes.
