2022 Recruiting - Football

Color me impressed.

So far it seems like Sark is putting together an awesome recruiting class / transfer portal group to load the menu with lots of talent. Meanwhile he added coaches that can help in various ways.

Good or bad record after season 1, can you remember a UT HC that has gone on a jihad for player talent and coaches like Sark? I cannot.

The recipe in 2022 is fluid and TBD, but I am BULLISH / STEERISH on our future fortunes in 2022!

Our defense just needs to be respectable to have a 9 win season.

OL: 2x5*, 3x4*, 2x3*

is outstanding. Plus picking up QB, WR, and TE in transfer portal. It seems like Sark can get whomever he wants on offense (Archie, anyone?). This is one of the best offensive recruiting classes for Texas in a long time.
And it’s not as if the two guys rated 3* by the wise internet gurus are marginal prospects. Not at all. Everyone of the OL looks good.

I understand and agree with our excitement on this OL, but don’t let that overshadow the outstanding haul of 9 top 300 defensive players as well.

Seems like a can’t miss recruit. Looks like a college upperclassman already.

Campbell ranks as our 9th highest rated recruit since recruit ranking began. Higher than Bijan, Malik Jefferson, Bru (cough, cough, don't laugh) and many others. He should be a game changer on that line.

I'll drink the Kool-Aid (love the Orange stuff). But I'll also have to keep in mind that our D is a long way from '21 to "respectable". I try desperately not to hang my serenity on a bunch of 18-19 year old kids. But I have to admit that these are a bunch of good looking (football-wise) 17-18 year olds & that big jug of Kool-Aid sure looks enticing.

Herein lies the difference-
Bo Davis with 4 star talent is a better combination than UT has seen in awhile.
Flood with the haul he just acquired is going to be fantastic.
The third element and this one concerns me more than anything else. Patience to allow the process to work.
We have a poor history of patience as fans and in crushing FR-SO QBs who aren’t Young or McCoy.

I'm going to push the glass of kool-aid aside for awhile.
While I am impressed with this recruiting haul, how many will actually play in 2022?
Who will be our QB and if it's Ewers how long will it take for him to get his feet under him?
How many of these recruits or existing players portal after spring practice.
I'm going to look towards 2023 and another good recruiting haul.
We need to have at least an 8 win season I think to convince the next recruiting class that the plan is working.
I am impressed with Sark and everything he has done.
Except for the win/loss record.
Show me something on the field in 2022 and the burnt orange glasses come back out.
And I'll be sipping the kool-aid.

I like it....but WR misses drag it down and we could have should have 1 more big tyme RB. Missing on Camar and then seeing Miller flip weighs.
Still, for me....needed 1 or 2 more WRs and had some chances but missed leaves a red mark on it.
Edit: How could I forget LBs?....This may be the most glaring and impactful area of need still

Saw a # yesterday that really grabbed me...

16 out of 28 new signees are either oline or dline prospects...wow..

Let that sink in as compared to our typical "skill" position-heavy hauls.

As stated above...Id like to have seen a few more WRs, couple LBs, a RB, and even a TE....But if having to choose Ill take this^^^^^ every time.

We missed on Evan Stewart and Denver Harris. Not sure if we ever had Perkins. If we got those 3, we would be #1 or close to it.

Bo Davis didn't have 4 star talent in '21?

Yes sir...
And see my edit.
I forgot LBs. We were light in an area we needed to be heavy in
