2022 Recruiting - Football

Don’t know why the “poop” on that. I was paying the guy a compliment.

When Simms came out of high school, Dick Vermeil said not many NFL qb’s can throw such a tight spiral as Simms and that wind has little effect on him.

And I sure hope our new OC now can do more with his talent than GD did with Simms.

Dasan McCullough to Ohio state. Damn.
Looked like a great athlete. As previously stated, winning will take care of this but keeping the best of the state at home would also be good. Herman needs to up his recruiting game. No one is Mack Brown but he was something to model after on the recruiting trail and how you treat the "Big Cigars". Herman will either learn or be gone.

Roach CB for WR Armani Winfield to Texas
Roach CB Denver Harris to Texas which was not even on his short list before Ewers' commitment. No expert in chief and only CB prediction.

Roach also said he was close to putting in Texas CBs for --
2022 RB/ATH Emeka Megwa (Fort Worth Nolan Catholic)
2022 five-star WR Evan Stewart (Frisco Liberty)
2022 five-star S Kamari Wilson
Getting Stewart and Burton to join Phaizon at WR would be wunderbar

Roach did indicate last night he was going to "sling the Burnt Orange Koolaid" today

So he also raised the "confidence level" on his CBs to Texas for
2022 RB Jaydon Blue (Klein Cain)
2022 OL Devon Campbell (Arlington Bowie)
2022 CB Jaylon Guilbeau (Port Arthur Memorial)

Megwa away from aOSU would be amazing. The others are like a Texas HS Dream team.

Armani Winfield brings to mind what an even faster young VY might have run like at WR as a Sophomore at Houston Madison.

Here is the last part of the Mile Roach update, with the guys were are improving our status with but who Roach has not CBd yet

While I don’t think Texas has moved into the lead for the following prospects, I believe stock is on the rise. I’d need to see more to enter a Crystal Ball, but the early information is encouraging so far.

Jay Valai is also working hard on Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei cornerback Domani Jackson. While Texas is in the mix at the top, there is still some congestion with Clemson and Michigan looming large in this recruitment. Still, I think this is a race Texas can realistically win for an elite out of state prospect.

I once thought Oklahoma would be tough to overcome for 2022 Duncanville DE Omari Abor. I think Texas is closing that gap quickly. Not only have the Longhorns been able to pitch him on fit in the defense, but they’ve also talked to the two-sport star about an opportunity to play basketball at the next level. The Longhorns keep moving forward with the monster athlete and could continue to rise with some momentum in this class.

A month ago, I thought Texas was fading hard with Atascocita offensive lineman Kam Dewberry, but Texas might be on the upswing once again. The staff will still have to overcome programs like Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, but the staff and commits are giving Texas a chance to climb back into it. It’s really up to Herb Hand to take this by the proverbial horns and finish the job.

From the BON podcast/Mike Roach
Ewers called Tim Beck at NC State and asked about the decision to commit to Texas and Beck fully endorsed the program and Herman

Smart coaches don’t burn bridges but this is impressive from Coach Beck anyway. I now am interested in watching him and Mack in the ACC get after Clemson
