2022 Recruiting - Football

cnb, just wondering about Arch Manning and a possible early entry, ala Ewers. The Manning family probably would discourage it but is skipping his senior year and enrolling in the fall something that has been discussed?

Funny you should ask. I have posed that to a couple of sec mods. The consensus is that the Mannings are pretty grounded and are looking for the whole college experience.
Having said that, if the right opportunity arose, it would be something they would consider.
His uncles are providing loads of input and guidance and a decision like that would be thoroughly vetted and not have the appearance of a spontaneous decision like Ewers.

Saban has the clout to bring in many more stars than he can possibly play. So Bama’s contribution to the portal may well be an ongoing thing. The real question is, are these players waiting their turn, or are they not at the level their ratings would have suggested. Probably a combination.

In the case of the Brockermeyers, it seems like a “waiting their turn” thing. Man do I wish they would portal…

This year's recruiting is so interwoven with the transfer portal, coaching changes and NIL announcements that it may require some connecting of the dots. There is no telling what the college football landscape will look like by the first signing period.

His commitment seems almost inconsequential. With the portal, Pandora's Box has been opened. Miss out on a 5* WR? No worries, there will be ten of them in the portal. Crank up the NIL machine. Traditional recruiting is suddenly a thing of the past.
 
Samples is officially the Assistant Head Coach/Run Game Coordinator for TCU. They also have added our old friend Carrington to the support staff. I guess he gave up the coaching dream.

Either way, look for them to pull some big time talent to TCU.
Was hoping to be able to squeeze Samples on to our staff.
