2022 CWS

Are you sure it was Heard I though it was Robert Wheeler and Katy Agnor. As one of those here in '99, I have been around here long enough to remember the announcement of the formation of the site and the the subsequent messy divorce.

Apparently there were two Robert’s involved.

I got expelled from the previous hornfans for criticizing Greg Davis, whom I have known since the 7th grade. I said nothing that wasn't factual.

This is pretty dated info but some of the early facts are there
The site is rated “extremely slow” by Alexa.com, with an average load time of 5.3 seconds.
This is most definitely dated info and no longer accurate!

The Agnors shared a lot of Hornfans history with me in a 2014 visit to their home and I don’t recall anything about Robert Heard, but I could have forgotten some details. Robert Agnor was serving generous amounts of wine that night.

I was one that followed Robert Wheeler (Longhorn Bob) to his new site, Longhorn Fan Zone, after the split.
Then he disappeared from the face of the planet.

I was on both sites for a while too. I used to get Wheeler's newsletter and even bought tickets from him to the game at Rutgers and remember hanging out with him at a bar at the hotel in New Jersey before that game. I wasn't a part of the infamous "bus" debacle and so never had the really hard feelings others did about him because I never knew the full story and obviously wasn't one of those who's money disappeared. The late 90's and 2000's were so different than now with True Orange coming to my mail box every week and actually having to listen to road games on the radio because they weren't televised. The Major-Chris debate split the fandom and at least one website all but ended over that mess too. Someday someone way more in the know than me should write the definitive history of Texas fandom during that era.

This is a screen shot from November 2014, about the time I started working on the new site. Brings back some good memories.
