Who's your first? Jackson? My second most coveted!
Great points @Jacob Johnson! She's the perfect fit at the 5 for Vic's coaching style. Regardless of who the new post coach is (I feel like it's already done just working out the details) they're going to be among the best at it, and they're going to develop the post players the way Vic wants/needs them developed. This is basketball where the head coach is hands on in pretty much all aspects, not football where the head coach delegates so much.We don't know that. Vic may have a coach ready but no announcement has been made yet. Even if one has not been hired you ensure her of the type of coach you are and let her know you have a great coach coming in. Vic has made four straight elite 8 appearances so that's also a selling point. The university of Texas alone is another great starting point but you also inform her you have the players coming in that will not only improve her game but can win at a high level. She would also immediately start and play huge minutes. Many things you could say and all are very true. Even the fact this team made it to the Elite 8 with all the adversity should tell her all she needs to know on how great of a coach Vic is. Besides, Texas fans are the best fans and Austin is the best
Agreed! People think it was just coach Harris who developed post players. She definitely is great at her job and played a huge roll but Vic also played a huge roll in that as well.Great points @Jacob Johnson! She's the perfect fit at the 5 for Vic's coaching style. Someone needs to send her Season 1 of The Wire.A bunch of Maryland personnel just followed her on Instagram including the coaching staff and players.
Apparently it will be either UConn or Auburn, per World Exposure:
If you have a post coach why not announce it? You don’t gain anything from not doing it. And her 2 finalize says that she wants to be developed. We don't know that. Vic may have a coach ready but no announcement has been made yet. Even if one has not been hired you ensure her of the type of coach you are and let her know you have a great coach coming in. I'm glad mississippi state was in her final schools. Meaning she has a strong relationship with Vic and the rest of the staff. Honestly if Johnnie would've stayed I think she would be a Texas lock but now we are competing against coach Harris. Texas has more to offer right now I will say that. She's familiar with Vic, Elena, Dionnah and unfortunately (now) Johnnie...
ESPN story about her commitment to Syracuse:
"Cardoso, a 6-foot-6 post player, had also been considering Mississippi State, Ohio State and South Carolina."
Trying to douse all the hopeful speculation with reality? Thhhpppppttt. Here's the bottom line... when all the dust settles we'll have whoever we have on our roster. If we build it from scratch with what we have then so be it. I've seen Vic do it before with a helluva lot less
Just reassuring that we're heading in the right direction regardless.Trying to douse all the hopeful speculation with reality? Thhhpppppttt.
You make absolute valid points... maybe it's wishful thinking but I feel he might have his person. Hell, go get Coach Brock if Mulkey leaves!!!Times are different now. You cant do things or rely how you did things in the past you have to adapt. Vic should've already had a post coach onboard. You have program changing talent that's entering the portal every day. Think about Auburn, in the past a coach like Johnnie would've spent her 4/5 years in the sec basement and probably gotten fired because she wouldn't be able to attract quality talent.
With the transfer rules now if she gets Cordosa she has a center piece that she can build around and sell to other potential transfers and recruits. She could potentially compete with the likes of South Carolina in year 2 or 3.
Seems you and this YahooSports writer are aligned...Now that Cardoso is in the portal, that might spur Syracuse 6'2 G/W Priscilla Williams to also transfer out. She's one I'd think we'd have a good shot at landing as she did officially visit MSU a couple of years ago.
Abso-freakin-lutely!!!Who's your first? Jackson?
He got them to the national championship game in 2015-2016 - also happened to be the first year Syracuse ever advanced to the Sweet 16 or beyond so I'm sure that factors in. Even with that, something is terribly wrong if you lose 100% of your roster in a single offseason. Why have they not fired their coach yet? If he loses all of his players from one season in a matter of a month then something must seriously be wrong
I wonder if @BALL IS LIFE has any info on the situation and the Mulkey thing.Boneyard posters claiming that inside source says Cordoso to UConn.
Got nothing for you....yetI wonder if @BALL IS LIFE has any info on the situation and the Mulkey thing.
I love being aligned . . .Seems you and this YahooSports writer are aligned...
