2021 Transfer Season

We know so little about Ebo. Yes, we know her Freshman and Sophomore stats, which would not suggest the second coming of Imani Boyette or even Jatarie White.

Let's allow her to get some game conditioning before we designate a starting lineup. But it's all good....we need Lauren.
Agree. I’m not expecting too much in terms of her stats but her presence should:
  • Allow Charli more opportunities to extend out to the 3-point line
  • Provide a bit more muscle on the glass
  • Keep Audrey from having to spend much time defending the 4

The biggest plus that Lauren Ebo brings is 5 more available fouls for our post players.

Of course, her presence could also affect the opponent's zone defense some when she is on the court with Charli or DeYona.

Obviously, she can also allow Charli and DeYona some additional breathers when needed; that pays off in so many ways, especially late in close games.

Against teams with several post players (Baylor) and/or elite post players (K-State), her availability just provides so many more options for our front court combinations.

I could go on, but her addition comes at the most critical spot on the court for us, IMO.

Nyah Green (Allen, TX) from Louisville is in the transfer portal. Other finalists for her out of high school were Baylor, Tennessee, LSU, and South Carolina. I'll be surprised if she doesn't end up at Baylor as they seem to have the most open roster spots now and for next season.

Mooooo, Nyah Green's situation seems very similar to Chasity Patterson's situation here a couple years ago. I recall watching a game and seeing freshman Joanne Allen-Taylor coming off the bench before sophomore Chasity Patterson, and I was like whoa. Patterson only played at the end of that game, canning a 3 pointer and the very next day she decided to transfer.

Louisville's roster is so deep with 6 other MDAAs and this is Green's second year at Louisville. Freshmen are passing her up, and she only played 1 minute in a blow-out win against Duke.

I went back and re-read some articles when Green was committing to Louisville, the most mentioned other programs were Baylor and South Carolina as her finalists, and a one mention of LSU.

Watch a little bit of A&M @ Florida today; I think at one point they had all transfers on the court:

Cierra Johnson (Louisville)
Destiny Pitts (Minnesota)
Zaay Green (Tennessee)
Jordan Nixon (Notre Dame)
Alexis Morris (Baylor/Rutgers)

Really good pick up. Vic has to step it up.
We have no scholarships available. In fact we are 1 over on scholarships so even if we wanted to go after her I'm sure she would take a full scholarship over what we can offer as anyone else. I don't expect Vic to go after any mid season transfers. Once a few people transfer after this season and I'm sure there will be a few, then you can expect this staff to hit the transfer market.

Not only did Coach Lovato start following Maya Dodson on twitter, but she also started following her mother, Karen; and, Karen is now following Lovato. Perhaps there's some serious interest there. :e-thinking:

I don't know anything about Bre'Amber Scott, but I'm guessing our coaching staff sure does:

She was very productive off the bench at Mississippi State. In fact, for some reason she was my favorite player on their team. I think it was because she produced every time she entered the game. She has pretty good size for a perimeter player and is a good outside shooter. I was very surprised when she left Mississippi State. If I remember correctly it was due to family reasons???

You think Vic and his staff will make a move??

Too bad we couldn't hang on to Katie Benzan after the coaching change:

Women's college basketball's top 10 transfers for 2020-21

4. Katie Benzan, Maryland, guard

After three years as an all-Ivy League performer for Harvard, Benzan brought instant offense to the Terrapins. She is averaging 15.2 PPG and is shooting 51.1 percent from long range, leading Maryland with 68 3-pointers. Benzan also has 56 assists and 26 steals -- second on the team in both categories to Ashley Owusu -- and just 20 turnovers, the least of any of the Terp starters.

Coach Lovato is following Princeton, mid-year grad transfer PG, Carlie Littlefield on twitter, and vice verse. Also, see Stanford and TCU following her on twitter.

Carlie Littlefield has decided to grad-transfer to North Carolina where she'll join former Princeton head coach, Courtney Banghart.

wonder what that will do to former Tx commit Deja Kelly. Interesting to see if Banghart moves her to the bench or moves her off the ball since you take a grad transfer who's played a high level with the promise of starting immediately

I have moderately followed UNC and Deja this season. I believe she began the season as a starter (not sure if at PG or SG), but then that changed midway through the season. Her stats seemed good early on, but then declined as the season progressed. Banghart is bringing in a talented 2021 recruiting class, including some highly-ranked guards. And, now a mature and experienced PG in Littlefield.

It's pretty obvious what's happening at Duke as that is now 5 players in the portal. Some purging is happening but that's what it takes to build a chance level team. I Also think Texas should take a look at Jaida Patrick here
