2021 Recruiting - WBB

Going to be a real dogfight at PF over the next few years with Deyona, Aaliyah, Latasha and Amina though I could see Aaliyah logging minutes at the 3 and Latasha at the 5.

Hell yeah!!! Honestly all the signs were pointing to her committing to us! So glad it’s finally officially and confirmed by hers truly!
What a insanely loaded class Vic secured his second year! Does anyone remember the original class ranking prior to Lattimore’s commitment?

Great news to welcome an additional player at a needed position for the upcoming season. Even sweeter that our staff won a head-to-head recruiting battle with Baylor.

I'm excited as anyone that we are signing highly-ranked players; but, as we all know, not every highly-ranked recruit will make an immediate impact in their first season at Texas. So, until we see them on the court come November, and make a better assessment of their potential contributions, a little bit of patience isn't a bad thing for us fans.

Fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy, makes a commitment to their physical conditioning, and is eager to compete for playing time.

512HornsUp, the original 2021 recruiting class rankings had Texas at #4 on ESPN (#1 SC, #2 CT, #3 NC) and #3 on Prospects Nation (#1 CT, #2 SC, #4 NC).

With the addition of Lattimore, Texas would move up to #3 on ESPN, and #2 on Prospects Nation.

Thanks for the info! What a great class this is going to end up becoming! STUDS everywhere! I truly used to be cautious when snagging big recruits under KA because we ended up having so many transfers and not much development after AA & BM graduated IMO. Vic has already demonstrated his players developments! I missed this excitement before the season even begins. I’m not going to jinx us, but great things are in our very foreseeable future :hookem:

TOTALLY AGREE 512. KA did an outstanding job recruiting but her biggest deficit was her inability to develop players and her inability to develop a scheme around the strengths of her players.

But Vic can flat-out coach. He took two teams with a combined ONE McDonald's All-American (Rickea Jackson) to two national championship games. He took a depleted Texas roster last year to the Elite 8. Imagine what he can do with a roster of MDAAs.

As Coach Vic said after the Elite 8 game, "This is what we do. This is Texas. And We'll be back. We'll be back, and back, and back, and back...I'm extremely proud of this team. I'm thankful to have the opportunity to coach them. I'm fired up and excited for our future because we're coming. And I think everyone knows it."

This....and this.

With a 14-player roster this season, Darwinian selection will surely result with a couple of KA recruits understandably seeking playing time elsewhere.

Like they say “iron sharpens iron”
Absolutely. We're now in a position to go 10 deep regularly (with exceptions in certain games and situations). The key for Vic will be figuring out a way to do that without disrupting game continuity. We all know the revolving door at the scorers table does not work.

And I admire Coach Conradt even more than I did for telling the AD to go get Vic from Mississippi State... she wanted the best PERSON for the job.

Seriously?.. So glad we have an expert on here to pick apart and criticize a high school recruit's game
Chill. The impressive thing is she would have beat her opponent in each case without the B12 infraction. She'll learn.

Actually it's you that should chill with your (lack of) expert knowledge. If the defender is not displaced, it's not a push off. Ever played much? :smh:

Rickea Jackson wasn’t there yet so he had ZERO McDonalds All Americans on those rosters...
