2021 Recruiting - WBB

The Oklahoman

I hope everything works out and I'm glad she got the surgery now instead of waiting any longer because those type of injuries just get worse over time.
Not good. Hopefully Gaston will be recovered from her injury and can stay healthy because if she doesn't Texas will be thin again in the front court next year with Charli likely going pro.

On Saturday, Kobe had 19 points and 8 boards going 0-4 from BTA. Another 35 point win for Casper with lots of players playing. JUCO playoff starting Wednesday so we’ll see how she plays against better competition.

Also interesting that A&M has a recruit at 596. Any bets she’s a top 100 or bettter when Blair gets her. Land thieves with one ranked 701.

Calling all experts. I am desperate for new film on Sukuzani. I’d also kinda settle for current stats if film not available. In my fair and biased opinion, after watching the VERY limited film of her.....I wasn’t seeing it for her. I REALLY want to believe she’ll help sooner than later. HELP!!

Cy creek will play Judson in the state tournament. That should be a good game because both teams are really guard heavy. Judson doesn't have a true big so it will be interesting to see how Cy creek takes advantage of that.

I hope in the future we put the ball in Kyndall's hands to end each quarter as she seems to have a knack for delivering!

So Judson vs CC ....I guess in regional final. DeSoto still has to beat a good South Grand Priarie team in regional finals. Or I think it’s SGP. They were playing a surprisingly good Plano East tonight. DeSoto should be a heavy favorite against either.

No. Regional finals were played tonight. State semi-finals are now set and will be played Friday in San Antonio.

You’re correct. DeSoto will play the winner of SGP/PE game at state semis. Judson vs CC in the other. I sure hope seedlings hold for a DeSoto vs CC final. The other teams will have a say in that.

It’s hard not to get super excited for next year after seeing and hearing about the five newcomers. Schaefer has done an admirable job of not disrespecting the efforts the current players, while periodically mentioning the “help” the team will have coming. Everyone is aware that at least the 3 high school players will be in the rotation this fall. When asked about when Texas will be able to compete and win against Baylor and other top teams, Schaefer doesn’t evade the question. Everyone knows the current kids are giving all they have to get better. Everyone also knows the coming “help” is the only thing that will get the team there. Schaefer doesn’t want to lose the current players by saying they can’t win at the top. It’s a delicate balance. However, when I see these highlights and the skill and flair Harmon and Hunter play with its hard to not look to the future.

There for sure is reason to be excited about our signees.

We need more consistent and reliable 3 point shooting. 4 of our signees could bring that if they come in with the proper mindset and conditioning.

Rori and Kyndall seem to bring different skillsets (and maybe more confidence with their shooting) than several of the current guards on our roster. In the end, we need players who can put the ball in the basket.

South Grand Prairie won last night and is a very good senior led team. However, DeSoto will be heavily favored against them. DeSoto won by 31 in an earlier matchup. DeSoto is playing without two starting guards who are TTech commits....Harris and Gatewood. They have the huge frontline with 3 top national players. They still have guards that can play...led by Kendall Brown....I believe a Houston commit. They like to press but didn’t last night against Duncanville. I wish the semis would be broadcast but will settle for the finals. Does Judson have a chance to spoil the dream matchup ?

I think Cy creek will beat judson by 30+ Judson is very streaky. They had a close game against a Lake Travis team who lost their star player and the rest of the roster is not D1 talent to say the least. Then there's the Judson team who beat a pretty good Reagan team in overtime. Either way it goes Cy creek has that game easily so Cy creek vs DeSoto is probably what we will see at state.

DeSoto vs Cy Creek for the 6A championship would be an interesting contrast of styles... frontline players vs backcourt players. I'd put my money on the guard play in that one.
