2021 Recruiting - Football

tOSU will probably finish with 5 of the top 10 recruits in the final 247 rankings.
Pretty impressive given the competition from Bama, Clemson and Georgia

1) JT Tuimoloau- DL, likely Ohio State
2) Korey Foreman- DL, USC
3) Leonard Taylor- DL, Miami
4) JC Latham- OL, Bama
5) Jack Sawyer- DL, Ohio State
6) Donovan Jackson- OL, Ohio State
7) Caleb Williams- QB- OU
8) Emeka Egbuka- WR, Ohio State - the #1 WR (better tham than ou where he almost went)
9) Tommy Brockermeyre- OT, Bama
10) TreVeyon Henderson- RB, Ohio State

On DE Garfield Lawrence of Tyler Legacy...IT saying they expect him to commit to Houston soon.

He apparently felt a bit overwhelmed at the thought of playing for Texas, especially with two veteran edge rushers transferring in.

OK, so, if we assume Ibraheem will be in, where does that leave us?
Four spots left?
1. Abiara or Lawrence (w/ Bimage, Dorbah, Thornton, Oghoufo, I thinks that's it)
2. LJJ
3. Uke (OL)
4. Transfer RB Eric Gray? (sounds like ou, but he has not yet announced)
if not Gray, then another RB? what if neither LJJ or Gray, which is possible?

With Grey to ou and LJJ mesmerized by all the frozen food at the Kroger, we have tried to kick the tires with Charbonnet and Habibi-Likio

Zach Charbonnet, Michigan, Running Back

In addition, Suchomel said that there's some buzz behind the scene that RB Camar Wheaton could be re opening his recruitment back up.
I wouldnt get too excited yet.

OrangeBloods saying they've had a few reporters from different markets reach out to them recently regarding the commitment status of RB Camar Wheaton, and the smoke is getting real as far as him opening things back up or at least keeping an open mind with the drastic changes at Alabama.

They said it's difficult to confirm pretty much anything with Wheaton because he doesn't talk, but it may not be a coincidence that the behind-the-scenes chatter is getting louder due to RB LJ Johnson struggling to make a decision.

Is team chasing an Oline men? Seems to me that the team could use 2 or possibly 3 high quality starters. Am I being unfair to the young guys?

If you mean adding someone to 2021, its Uke

But generally, a near catastrophically bad OL class

The new kicker has some range

All kidding aside, this kicker is supposed to be really good and our coaches feel like we stole one
He is scholarship worthy

Alabama supposedly shutdown the Wheaton talk

I am unable to confirm or deny that a bagman may have been involved

Mike Roach on Banks and DFW recruiting

I still don’t have a great handle on the recruiting territories for assistants, but I’d bet Jeff Banks will be responsible for Dallas and the I-20 corridor in the southern part of the metroplex in particular. Coaches in Dallas rave about him, and it was his area prior when at UTEP and Texas A&M. One high school coach told me that Banks is one of the most relentless personalities he’s ever met no matter if it’s coaching or recruiting.

The kicker is such an important position, I still find it hard to believe that teams don't have 2-3 on scholarship at any one time, just like they do every other position.

A good FG kicker can get you points when you'd have to punt or try for a low percentage 4th down play, and keep the other team at the 25 on every kickoff.

Same for a good punter - a good one can pin a team back 10 yards further than an average one - so it's like you've already given up a first down with an average kicker compared to a great one.

Yep, he was about the first decent punter Texas has had in my memory. We used to hope for a 35 yard kick with no return when I was going to school. Or just throw a long INT where the WR could push the defender out of bounce after he caught it.

Punting and kicker are such overlooked aspects of football, mostly from no coaches ever being one, so they'll looked on as some strange role that you hope someone from the soccer team will walk on for.

"Texas is kicking the tires on offering Dothan High (AL) speedy and versatile running back Jaylin White. The near 5-foot-10, 185-pounder has had Ole Miss and Purdue as his most likely destinations, but that could change quickly with an offer from the Longhorns. Texas running backs coach Stan Drayton, Brandon Harris and Bryan Carrington have all been working on the info gathering and recruiting process with White with the staff having made contact with White and Dothan High head coach Smitty Grider on Wednesday. Florida has also been mentioned as a potential destination possibility in the last few days. "

Here are Wiltfong's predictions for the remaining 2021s that we care about --

5-STAR DE J.T. TUIMOLOAU Prediction: Ohio State
As we expected, Tuimoloau will push his decision past National Signing Day so he can visit Ohio State for the first time and return to Alabama. Ohio State remains the 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast including my prediction. I think Ohio State’s track record of producing high draft picks at the position along with the relationship with Larry Johnson has the Buckeyes in great shape, but certainly you can’t count out Alabama with the likes of USC, Oregon and Washington also pushing.

4-STAR RB LJ JOHNSON Prediction: (aggy)
The blue-chip running back has graduated high school and could have enrolled early at the school of his choice. But he’s struggling to decide between Texas and Texas A&M. There’s nothing more to it than that. Johnson is still asking each program questions and gathering information. Texas was the clear leader in September but he wasn’t able to go public with his plans. Over the course of the season this recruitment has evened out. There still seems to be more buzz around the Aggies lately.
