2021 Recruiting - Football

Damn well better. He is the kind of guy a team takes then decides where to play him. Athlete for certain.

He has a big arm which will probably get bigger as he fills out
As as a Sophomore, he had 33 TDs/3100 yards in a fairly tough district at a school that doesn't have the same talent level of some of the area schools

I'm not going to say he is a better prospect than Milroe as Milroe is a very unique talent, but damn this kid had an incredible arm. His deep balls are absolutely beautiful. Not only that, his arm is strong as Ewers and that is saying something. I'm starting to think that Milroe did us a favor as he would have terrorized us at ISU. I don't know if he can beat out any of our other QBs since they are all pretty solid guys in their own right, but damn his arm is going to give him the chance.

It is good to have him here but I don't know why he would want to compete against the QBs we have already.
Since he is only a low three star how could he expect to beat out our 4 stars.:smokin:

Colt was a 3 Star and Jevan Snead was clearly more talented physically. McCoy just flat out applied himself full time.

Colt was the consolation prize for losing out on Perrloser, Jevan came in the next year thinking he would be the next great QB at Texas. Thing is Colt was a coaches son and just had a great feel for the game. I always said, that if you were to take Colt's head and put it on Chris Simms body you would have John Elway. I've never seen a more accurate passer than Colt or one that took such good care of the football.

This new kid is big and strong, I like what I saw in him, I guarantee we would have not only hated him at ISU, but we would hear countless stories about how he grew up a Longhorn fan and never got an offer.

I actually didn't want us to take another QB hoping we could use the scholarship on another position but I'm damn happy we got this kid.

This new staff is starting to grow on me, these guys not only know what they are doing, I think they are raising their level of recruiting with really good evaluations. That to me is more important than star power from the recruiting services. Plus the reports coming out about them actually knowing how to coach their positions is fantastic.

I heard about this kid on local sports talk radio last year. One of the radio personalities also does live broadcast for Austin High and talked about being surprised he wasn't more highly rated and recruited.

Yurcich seems to have a well-defined idea of what he wants in a QB

As of this moment in time, with the new coaches and our recruiting successes, it feels like we are setting ourselves up quite well for a multi-year run. From my perspective, the biggest threat to that happening is ourselves. All we have to do is not trip over our own <unnamed body part> in 2020.

Young Mr. Wright seems to have excellent accuracy, reasonable mobility and I really like his release. Welcome aboard!

Sorry, if I missed this, but didn't we have two OL on the 2021 recruiting list? Did we lose someone? Or did I just lose my mind?
