2020 Recruiting - WBB

Who's fault is it when an 8th grader makes a college commitment? Shouldn't she be allowed to change her mind? Or should the college of her choice feel used? Cause all of their recruitments have been built around her choice, the choice of an 8th grader. Feeling some kinda way...
I hope Deja remains a Longhorn.

Even though Maliyah appears to have a long and lean frame, that might be what allows her to play multiple positions in college. If we do plan on signing a large 2020 class (5-6 players), then it really benefits us if a couple are versatile enough to play a couple of different positions.

6’ 3” Maliyah Johnson (Summer Creek/Houston) was on campus and seems to have been offered.

Just another name to add to the amazing 2020 class of recruits. After the 2019 class is closed out and put to rest we need to put together a list of Must haves and wants for Texas in this 2020 class!

Cant’t recall hearing about this:
Can Irving MacArthur overcome star's injury? Irving MacArthur point guard Sarah Andrews is ranked as the No. 1 player in Texas and the sixth-best player in the nation in the Class of 2020. But the five-star recruit could be out until at least the first part of December because of a fractured wrist, coach Suzie Oelschlegel said.

Same article but in the Players to Watch section:

Harmoni Turner, Mansfield Legacy: The four-star recruit made 72 3-pointers while averaging 22.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.2 steals. The junior qualified for the Class 5A Region I meet in cross country this season. She is one of three returning starters on the state's 12th-ranked 5A team, along with Texas State pledge Keslyn King and McMurry pledge Sidney McHenry.

Harmoni Turner off to a great start. I hope she's on Texas' recruiting radar.

She's also gets a mention in this article from SportsDay

Gusters had 14 and Kelly 7 in a Fairly easy win over Irving McArthur last night. Andrews still out. Gordon had 25 in a. LD Bell win. Rogers had 24 in a Bishop Lynch win.

Well kinda. Especially the point spread. I was looking at Friday game results and Duncanville wasn’t winning like they have been. Timberview has been VERY good for several years now and has had several college recruits albeit smaller ones. And I believe Timberview won by 1 or 2 early last year. If I am not mistaken Harmoni Turner is on that team. Kelly had like 10 points Friday and there were 2 or 3 higher scorers so Duncanville is probably going through an adjustment period. I personally would like to see others beat Duncanville. Good for overall girls, basketball in the Metroplex. But I imagine Duncanville will be there at the end. Also, I watched Plano beat Duncanville pretty handily in,the playoffs last year. I’ll watch for news on it. Thanks for the result.

Harmoni Turner is at Mansfield Legacy - tough to keep track as Mansfield seems to open a new high school yearly. Chennedy Carter is a Timberview grad.
Agree about the point spread but Timberview is one of the Top 5 5A teams in the state and Duncanville is probably the top 6A.

The only written source I have is the DMNews. Sometimes if there is a lead from friends to the Ft Worth Star Telegram, I can get that but don’t have a subscription. I try and get out to local games and talk to fans. Go to a few spring/summer tournaments and talk to some old coaches and referees that I know. And those contacts are fading. That’s it.
