2020 Presidential Election: let the jockeying commence

Poor Anderson Cooper is so conflicted here
The goal is wide open for him to score easily
But it would be an own goal
The poor boy doesnt know what he should do

Wakanda has a wall (as I have been told)
Allows in less immigrants than Japan

I give the Bern points for this answer
“Open borders? No, that’s a Koch brothers proposal”
— Bernie Sanders

Someone threatened a loss of funding?
That's usually what walks them back

I don't think it's funding. I think he just accepts now that the intersectional Left isn't going to allow a Democrat who isn't for open borders to be the nominee.

Not the Onion (which appears to maybe have been put out of business no longer able to compete with real life?)

Bernie is a protectionist. He has always been. He is what you would call a national Socialist who believes in democratic elections.

That describes a pretty important historical figure in the mid-20th century too.

Free Starbucks For Everyone!

I'd strongly consider giving him my vote. As mentioned previously, I spent nearly a decade working for Starbucks in the corporate office. He's a good dude and have been able to build a company with ~$25B in annual revenue while offering stock options, benefits and free college education to any employee that works >20hr/week. Yes, all of those things are available to that barista that makes your latte.

I'd be torn about supporting him as an Independent candidate though because history shows that only leads to the alternate party candidate winning. See Perot and Nader as relevant examples.

Maybe this is our chance to get something going but he needs a party machine behind him. It seemed Perot actually was organized. Nader was more of a wild-catter.

So what do you think of Liberals boycotting because they don't want the American people to have a choice? Some Democracy there eh?

The first election I was eligible to vote I was a Reagan fan that voted for Perot.

Neither the R's or D's have my or your best interests in mind. I desperately want a viable 3rd party but 4 more years of Trump is quite a steep price to pay. :p

Me too on Perot. My old boss back in Dallas joined Perot's local campaign. He was so excited about him. Then he dropped out. Big disappointment. Did you believe the reasons he stated? Seems he implied or said the Bush campaign threatened him or something. I haven't looked it up.

I get that both parties see us as easy prey.

Is Kamala a female version of Bill Clinton? She's getting roasted on Twitter.

She does strike me as the type that will say/do anything to get what she wants. I say that mostly based on her performance during the Kavanaugh hearings.

It really is pitiful. She was able to leverage cushy government jobs (for which she had questionable qualifications) and win elected office because she was banging the Speaker of the Assembly (who was a married man). She was the Monica Lewinsky of California but leveraged her "relationship" much more. Of course, anyone who brings this up will be called a misogynist, but any Republican who had a similar past would be ridiculed to no end.

And here's what's sad. I really don't care that she did this. I did all kinds of stupid **** in my 20s (though never anything as dumb as banging Willie Brown), but she'll be defensive about it and try to be taken seriously. She shouldn't be. She should admit that she was an idiot at the time. I'd respect her more.
