I don't understand the thinking of legal Hispanics. Maybe you can explain, but hwy would someone who followed the rules, waited patiently, and became a citizen legally support illegals coming the the US without any sacrifices or doing anything to earn it? It's no different that getting my degree at UT. I studied hard and worked my *** off to earn my degree. I wish just the opposite for those who cheated, had someone else do their work for them, take their tests for them, etc. For those I only wish for their degrees to be stripped. They are a shame and disgrace to my school.
It is very hard to explain. I'm not sure I can. In short, I just think it's their emotional immaturity. Perceived racism makes them huddle up for their own tribe regardless of the law or common sense. They are apparently unable to stand alone under our Constitution so they band together and become very defensive.
I know a few young Hispanic waitresses and their lack of education bonds them with the illegals. They see themselves in them.
My Father was exactly as you say; he did it the right way and had no sympathy for law breakers.
