2019 Recruiting - WBB

Celeste Taylor talking to younger kids about her experience with the process of college basketball recruiting. Notice that she's rocking the Texas "Family/Everything" shirt. It's great seeing young adults taking on a leadership roles.

racer,

I think you are overlooking the colon after "Tennessee:". She eliminated Tennessee; the remaining 6 schools under consideration are listed after the colon. At least that's how I read it.

Ellis,

Angel Jackson was mentioned earlier in this thread as I believe there was a tweet that Coach A was out in California watching one of her high school practices.

Although I don't know much about Aijha Blackwell, I wouldn't classify her as a 2nd or 3rd tier recruit. She made the USA U18 team and she's a 4 star recruit according to ESPN rankings.

Other teams in her top 12 are Notre Dame, Mississippi State, Louisville, Missouri and Ohio State.

And, she is ranked #21 nationally by ProspectNation.com

My bad. Sloppy reading on my part

If there is 1 glaring hole on the roster when it comes to an elite player, it’s a true wing. Based on what I’ve read and seen in short videos, I doubt you could make up a better fit than Rickea. Hopefully she’s a bit tired of those Michigan winters and heads to Austin. Celeste I see as a combo G/SF ala Ariel.

So, we know Liz Scott made official visits to Kansas and Southern California; and, apparently one to Texas A&M coming this weekend. That only leaves 2 official visits.

Now that I re-read that tweet about Liz Scott, if she is going to be in Frisco with her club team "starting Friday", then she can't be visiting A&M this coming weekend.

Here's a small update on the USA U17 team that is currently training in Colorado Springs. Haley Jones, Celeste Taylor and Zia Cooke are three of the players shown in the video.

From social media: “Our coaches are on the recruiting trail all across the country this weekend looking for future Longhorns to join the FAM!”

Here's a little more info on the summer evaluation periods. There are two evaluation periods; (1) July 6-12 (including the AAU tourneys) and (2) July 23-29. There are dead periods in between the evaluation periods and after the last one.

There are strict guidelines coaches must adhere to during an evaluation period. There cannot be face to face contact between a coach and a college bound prospect or their parents unless the athlete is on the college campus. A college coach may watch the student-athlete compete, visit the high school and write or telephone them or their parents.
