2019 Recruiting - Football

At least one site thought Marcel Brooks (4-star LSU LB commit) would be in Austin this weekend as a secret visitor but he no show. Something we may be better off for just the same

Some more on Trey Sanders --

-- he has a good relationship with Stan Drayton who has been selling him on his history of getting RBs ready for the NFL.
-- he is also close to someone who lives in Dallas which helps his willingness to leave Florida.

Kenyatta Watson and Roschon Johnson both visiting next weekend.

edit - also Jermaine Johnson from Eden Prairie, MN

Social Media. Blessing or curse? Why would any fan from any school bash a recruit. smh

Looks like we have a punchers chance.

Sadly, neither Javonne Shepherd, nor Zach Evans (2020), nor Malik Hornsby (2020) made their scheduled visit to aggyville this past weekend.

Evans might be the best RB prospect out of Texas since Adrian Peterson

aggyfan was particularly perturbed about the Shepherd no-show and have been convinced it was the result of some lyin plot by Texas coaches. They use various forms of the word "lie" quite a bit. But it was actually aggy reporters who upset him. aggy also just took two OTs so perhaps this is a truer sign of what they think of their chances with Shepherd?

Story of a girl --

When the 6-foot-0, 216-pound five-star RB went to the Red River Shootout last year, he met a girl. That interaction blossomed into a long-distance relationship. So when he tripped to Dallas to see her last week, the UT staff called and invited him for a weekend UOV. He obliged.

Holland on Shepherd and the weekend

"Just so we’re clear on the Javonne Shepherd saga. Here is what I know: Texas still expects Shepherd to make his way down on Saturday. Footwork King is slated to be his transportation. He is scheduled to visit (aggy) on Friday. If he does show up in College Station, things will get a little tricky as Footwork King will need to pick him up there, and you can bet (aggy) will do everything it can stop him from making it to Austin. Either way, Texas made a big impression on him last weekend and remains his leader as of today."
