Baton Rouge-native who missed the Fiesta Bowl for “violation of team rules”
He was a high 4-star and top 100 nationally

He apparently has been in LA for the last 2 weeks.
We just flew most of the coaching staff along with few others out there to talk to him and the family.

Apparently we left the meeting without anything firm from him.
For now, we are saying we are willing to give him some more time.

247 says Bru "shut himself off from anyone at UT for two weeks" leading up to the meeting. It seems that one issue he had was the idea Coach Herman was trying to replace Coach Mehringer.

I'm trying to imagine how bad of a deed a player would have to commit to miss a big game for violating the team rules AT LSU ..

All 2nd year players. Great recruiting class.
Reading between the lines, looks like we may have a prima donna type personality in play. If so, he'll have to mend his relationships with teammates and prove himself. Just made his own life more difficult (if I'm reading this correctly--big 'if'). If he leaves, his reputation will follow him.

Psychologically, it may be hard going from BMOC / Mr Everything / the center of attention in high school to just one of many great athletes on a team, including some better and many more senior to you. Incoming Freshmen won't be treated like royalty on any reputable team. Most manage this fine and take a realistic view of things. But some have a hard time with the relative status drop. Also, note that this never seems to happen to linemen. Just saying.

(If they're tweeting about Evans, same principles apply).
