2018 Recruiting - WBB

Boswell upset Wylie East 57-32. Audrey had a game high 16 points. I wasn’t able to make it to the game (12 hour day at work and just too tired).

I haven't seen Wylie East play but somebody thinks they are good since they are ranked like 7 in the Metroplex. I was impressed with Boswell when I say them play Southlake Carroll. Well coached and Warren is not the only player on that team. So my opinion is that it was a home game for Boswell and they are a little underrated.

thanks, DFW_Horn. Glad she knows that she knows she needs to work on her conditioning before she gets here. Somebody needs to tell her about the BBQ joints in Lockhart and Luling as well. Good eating without those lo-o-ong lines. :smile1:

BabHorn whats your list of the 5 best BBQ joints in the Austin area?

Other than the County Line on the Lake? when we used to have the basketball get together in August, I haven't eaten BBQ in Austin for close to 15 years. So, I do not feel qualified to answer your question, Malcolm.
Now in Lockhart and Luling, she can't go wrong at any of the six joints although my personal favorite is Chilsolm Trail.

Malcolm.....I am a barbecue fanatic. I have eaten at EVERY SINGLE one of them in the hill country. The two BEST are Franklins and La Barbecue. If you prefer pork ribs, La Barbecue is head and shoulders the BEST in Texas. Franklins has the best brisket, but only by a slight margin. Lockhart has Smitty's and Kreuz Market which are both excellent, but neither compare to La Barbecue or Franklins. I personally go to La Barbecue because I think overall it is the BEST. Hope that helps.~~~

I use to eat at Franklins when he was selling his barbecue out of a trailer. Almost immediately, he would sell out within an hour of opening. I love his brisket. I can't say I've been to every place in the hill country but it is hard to imagine brisket any better. I also like La Barbecue A LOT.

If she's up early and hungry on a Saturday, I suggest she head to Snow's in Lexington.

Some video on Charli that I found while waiting for a contractor to finish some work.

It's worth taking the time to watch both of those videos. Charli is an impressive young lady. She's very humble and seems to be loved by her teammates. We are fortunate to have players such as Charli and Deja entering the program that have great character and leadership skills.

Speaking of talented players, does anyone know how Sedona Prince's season is going? Someone had mentioned that she was in a walking boot a few weeks ago. Is she back on the court?

Joanne Allen-Taylor and Cypress Falls fell to Jersey Village 60-57 last night on a 3pter at the buzzer.

Halftime vs Bridgeport: Sedona has 18 points, 6 boards. Liberty Hill leads 29-26. Sedona never left the floor and she was getting pretty gassed with a few minutes left in the 2nd. She has a nice fluid jump shot but did most of her damage within 8 feet of the basket (6 of 10 shooting, 0-1 from 3, 6 of 7 at the FT line). She had a couple of nice rebound-putbacks including an and-1.

Final score: Liberty Hill 70-51. LH came out very aggressive in the 3rd, putting a lot of pressure on the ball and caused quite a few turnovers, LH outscored Bridgeport 27-7 in the quarter. Sedona finished with 30 points (11 of 17 from the floor, 8 of 9 FT) with 11 rebounds and 1 block. The opposing team really never tried to establish an inside game.

IMO, Sedona is one of the more coordinated HS players I’ve seen at 6’ 5”+ but man, she is slim. Like most young bigs, she could struggle with the increased physicality of the college game but she has crazy potential. Makes jumper consistently out to 14-15 feet and can handle the ball even leading the break a couple of times. Very glad I got to see her play.

She only played half of the 4th quarter but stayed engaged on the bench ala Jordan. Got a bit of a laugh from the crowd/bench when a teammate got a block/jump ball - Sedona sprang up and started showing off her “guns.”

I see in this tweet that Charlie’s team played against Queen Egbo’s team Ft. Bend Travis. I wonder how that match up went??
Also noted recognition to Charlie and Chastity for being 3000 point scorers!! The future is amazingly bright!!

At the rate Deja’s going, in the 2020-2021 season, Texas will have 4 players on the roster with 3,000+ points in high school: Deja (frosh), Charli (junior), Chasity and Destiny (seniors). Can’t forget Destiny’s 4,300.
