2018 Recruiting - Football

The 4 latest CBs for TE Dom Wood-Anderson are to us. Holland, Roach and Seahorn all last night. This guy might be a one and done, but still worth it.....

Both 247 and Seahorn are pretty much saying the same thing on Wood-Anderson
That he still has a visit planned to Alabama but that Bama is planning on taking only one TE
And that Oregon is losing patience with him

5-star WR Terrace Marshall from Bossier City, LA says he is is planning "multiple" trips to Austin
He is the #1 in LA and #1 WR overall per 247 composite

I had posted in this thread about 2 weeks ago that Terrace is on my wish list for the other side of Brennan Eagles. Can you imagine those two on the outside with Rondale Moore in the slot?

Here is a good Ian Boyd piece on the importance of recruiting DLs that fit the scheme
http://insidetexas.com/inside-the-gameplan-finding-the-4i/

"Texas’ search for defensive linemen has become a pretty fascinating topic this offseason. The team is struggling to find depth at the position, losing both existing players and committed recruits at the position. The search for the now notorious “4i-technique” linemen who can fit Todd Orlando’s 3-4 defensive scheme is becoming a major theme in the recruiting story.

How the Longhorns handle this position in terms of recruiting and development is a major factor in how the Herman/Orlando era will go, particular because recruiting blue chip DL is generally a blue blood privilege that is a big factor in how Texas can differentiate themselves from other programs in the Big 12. Everyone has access to talented receivers, everyone is struggling to find linebackers, but only the top schools have access to the blue chip DL. Oklahoma is moving back to a four-down defensive front in part because of their own struggle to recruit and develop 4i-techniques for their 3-4 defense over the last few years.

Now it’s Texas’ turn to try and figure this conundrum out....."

Joe,
Any relation to Percy out of Columbus? Maybe his father?

Have not seen that, but its possible. He is quite the talent

Quote from TFB--
– Slot WR’s: I’m not sure slot WR’s have ever been talked about this much in terms of a Texas recruiting class until this year. The big 3 are Jaylen Waddle, Rondale Moore, and Texas commit Justin Watkins. That’s the order I’d rank them in, but they are all Top 100 national talents in my mind.

One thing we know is that people around Waddle were not happy that Texas took a commitment from a slot WR from Florida in Watkins, and still aren’t happy. I don’t think Waddle ends up in this class if Watkins is on board. But I don’t necessarily feel the same way about Rondale Moore. I believe Texas can land Moore in the near future with Watkins in the class. I think the bigger question is can Texas keep Watkins in the class if Moore commits?

From TFB --

– Dead Period: ....... things will slow down a bit as the dead period starts Monday and ends on July 9th, so recruits won’t be able to take visits during this time. It’s also the time where most college coaches take a short vacation with their families.

One good note is that I’m expecting Texas to land some very good news the week after the dead period… – (Andrew)

If only he was Teddy Lehman fast. <sigh>
Moore is Texas' next Heisman winner. As far a Lehman's fast... there's still time. Of course to test for that sort of speed he has to go to the UnderArmor Camp in a Galaxy far far away. My guess is Moore won't quite be able to make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs.
