2017 Recruiting

I can only assume the "waiting" is for Destiny Littleton to see if she becomes part of the 2017 class with Chasity and Rellah.

With USC still not having hired a new head coach, and Littleton scheduled to play in the Jordan Brand Classic in two weeks, seems we'll be waiting for at least a month.

She had a bad McDonald's game, but she's rated at a 97 by ESPN and ranked 33 best in the 2017 class, ninth best guard. Scored record number of points in California.

Ready for next year already.
Especially after I watch Boothe and Patterson play.
We might get to see them earlier than usual if LHN gets off their tails and show the games in Italy in August. Hopefully they'll at least stream them.

Since Destiny Littleton is waiting to see who's the next USC coach, here's a name from the rumor mill...

Had to look up Paye, hard to imagine anyone more Stanford than her:

Paye was born at the medical center of Stanford University's hospital, and was raised in Woodside, California in a family of Stanford student-athletes. Both of her parents, her sister and brother all went to the school. Her father was a running back for Stanford's football team while her brother John was a guard for Stanford's basketball team and quarterback for the Cardinal in the mid-1980s, and later was her basketball coach at Menlo School.

After high school, she was recruited by (and turned down) Harvard University, Princeton University and Dartmouth College. Stanford never recruited her, so Paye attended its women's basketball team training camp as a walk-on and tried out. She was accepted and won a spot as a point guard on the team.

In her freshman year in 1992, she played on Stanford's 1992 championship team and earned a scholarship for the following year.

She graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Joined Vanderveer's staff in 2007.

Isn't there a WBCA All-American game scheduled soon? It would be nice to at least read about it, since I don't suppose it is televised.

Interesting tweet from Coach T...

Ok Coach TT you have me looking every day, several times a day, to see if there has been an announcement!
You have a bunch of people on Hornfans waiting to see some Good News! Come on now you're killing me!
:headbang:

If we get somebody else, I can't imagine a better get than Littleton. I've never seen her play, other than the AA game, but from everything I've read....It would almost be an embarrassment of riches.

I agree... Sounds like JUST the type of player we need. Good size, athletic, prolific scorer's mentality, hardworking, and always seeking improvement. Come on down Littleton... You will love Austin.

Chasity showing the loot she and Rellah get playing in the Jordan Brand classic (nice that they roomed them together):

Boys and girls game is April 14.
I guess I should've mentioned the date. Too annoyed that ESPN can't find a way to air the girls' game - SEC softball is such a ratings grabber by comparison I guess. It's not like they have a long term interest in women's basketball - just the NCAA tournament and WNBA.

Rellah gets McDAA MVP, Chasity takes it at Jordan Brand. Nice.

Chasity Patterson, a Texas signee from North Shore (Houston), led the East with 17 points.
