With Strong's fate at the very least up in the air after the OSU and OU games, most recruits moved on. Herman would not have been in on most of the recruits at UH that would have considered UT versus other power 5 programs. When Strong was hired he had some benefit of Brown's approach of early commitments (Conner Williams, Vahe) that he held on to. Hopefully, the talent Strong brought in the last two years is as good as advertised (although no real evidence on the field) so that Herman can fade a mediocre 2016 class. If Herman produces 9-10 wins with no blow out losses, I think he will clean up in 2017.

i wasn't criticizing mack. quite the opposite. i was saying that mack was able to come in and recruit in the last two months of the recruiting cycle. he didn't need early commitments. he hit the ground running and performed.
