A&M has 6 commits from the top 57 in the country. Unless something changes soon we could be looking at continued tough times in the Big XII.

I think we need to hire a prime time asst coach recruiter to help Coach G. To be an elite team we need elite players and we aren't getting them.

If a top 50 recruiting ranking is your criteria for elite, then Texas is getting them.

This year, Texas brings in 3 players rated in the top 50 by Blue Star-- pg Cassie Peoples, f Nneka Enemkpali, and f Kala Brewer. Brewer was on the 2011 list, but she graduated from high school a year early and went to South Carolina last year. She left after one semester and will be eligible at Texas this winter.

In 2010, the recruiting class included top 50 recruit Tiffany Moore. Moore was set back by injury but showed signs later in the season of why she was ranked highly. Also, in 2010, Texas brought in Chassidy Fussell who was a second team all Big 12 player as a freshman, showing that recruiting rankings are not perfect predictors of success.

In 2009, Texas brought in top 10 post Cokie Reed who will return this year after red shirting in 2010 following off season foot surgery.

With 11 freshman and sophomores in 2011, Texas only has a few scholarships available for 2012 and 2013. Top 100 Empress Davenport for 2012 is looking better every day Recruiting rankings are far from settled for 2013, but Texas has commitments from several players who are gaining notice.
