Most people will likely see this debate through their bias. It is like for me watching a UT game. I will point out how we missed on that play or should have tackled there. Rarely do we fully give the other team credit for 'making the play'.
That being said, the post debate coverage I saw on CNN last night clearly said it was a win for Obama. Now whether they are biased or not is a fair question. King didn't give a win to either that I remember but did point out areas where Obama looked good and much better than last debate. Specifically with the 'act of terror' comment. Romney's camp had to be cringing when he brought that up. Now they are backpedalling and trying to spin it. But King's point is that it was a miss by Romney which completely changed the discussion from whether or not President Obama's administration screwed the pooch in the embassy attack to whether or not President Obama used the phrase the day after the attack. This was on clear area going in that you would have thought Romney could attack and he ended up using a poor strategy that back fired and nullified the point. They also did a good job fact checking some of the points made. Sometimes they were both right but they were misleading. That is where I would hope a moderator can step in in future debates. Obama did a good job on the 47% thing. He looked much better on the immigration, foreign policy, listing his accomplishments, comparing Romney to Bush. Romney is going to look good on the tax issues and the economy. Part of that is that he can say whatever he wants to do without listing specifics. Also we don't know if he can really do what he is saying but man it sounds good. When he starts saying, "I have a business background, and I am going to give tax breaks to small businesses and the middle class, and we are going to grow the economy, etc" even I start to get excited. But then you have to look at the plans and decide for yourself if you think those plans will actually happen or not.
Romney clearly wasn't going after the Latino vote last night. I have to think that this specific demographic is again going to be a big problem for him on election night.
