I have NEVER seen a college player dominate a game the way Kenneth Sims did.

Just a reminder for you recruiting gurus, nobody offered Kenneth and we had to gang up on Fred to get him to offer Sims. I believe it was Coach Dabbs that pushed so hard. He had some disciplinary issues in HS, but Coach Dabbs and another assistant were convinced it was more personality conflict than disciplinary. We had a couple of scholarships held back for "just in case", but those kids went to Oklahoma and elsewhere. We have had a lot of great DTs, but I submit Kenneth Sims was the best ever, and yes, I saw Scott Appleton, who saved the 63 Baylor game.

6721,

Stegent had a really long day, but years later he would admit that being captain and having an upclose look at Bradley when he made his infamous comment to Vince Buckley, that his eyes were as big as the hubcaps on a 57 Desoto, and everyone on the East sideline of Memorial Stadium knew they were about to get their butts kicked.

Just a reminder and to educate the younger crowd, in 1963 an undefeated Baylor team came to Austin with Don Trull & Lawrence Elkins. Could Mike Campbell design a defense to stop the highflying Baylor offense. Everyone has seen the photo of the Duke Carlise's interception to save the game, BUT few remember that earlier Elkins turned the Horns secondary every way but loose and was running wide open. Just as Trull cranked up, Scott Appleton hit him and the pass missed Trull by about 40 yards.

Great player, who suffered some hardships in life, but got things straightened out. Gone too soon. A true Longhorn Legend

Total oops (an oops-poop). Accidental poop. Has been "unpooped". Thanks for bringing to my attention.

NP. Your action is often called "fat finger"... what you meant to click, bleeds to next icon. I too have done it or due to not having reading glasses on when texting from small cell phone screen.

Hook 'em!!
