# 15 QB - RICK MCIVOR

So, I have not done the math, but how many games did Russell Exerleben FG's and key / huge punts, PAT's make a difference?

1. LONG FG ('s) that helped the Horns win a game?
2. FG's to stay competitive but Horns lost?
3. Punts crushed other team potential field position?

Phillips vs ou 1970.

This cannot be 1970 as Texas wears the home burnt orange jerseys against OU in odd numbered years. Thus, this is either 1969 or 1971 and Phillips did not have any rushing or passing statistics in the 1969 game.so this must be the 1971 game, which did not end well (27-48).

Sorry, I confused Eddie Phillips with Alan Lowry. He wore #15 and most famously scored the winning touchdown against Alabama in the 1973 Cotton Bowl.

I suspect you are correct El Arroyo. 1971 game vs. ou was really UGLY.

I don't think Phillips played in the 1969 game - it was fairly close game to the end and Street remained in the game until the end, IIRC?

So, did Phillips get knocked out / injured in the 1971 ou game? Honestly, I don't remember now.
I do remember Donnie Wiggington later in the game, desperately trying to QB a comeback during this beatdown by blow-u.

High school quarterback who was moved to linebacker after a hand injury his freshman year. Set a season record for forced fumbles in 1975.
During DKRs final season, Hamilton recorded 154 tackles and teamed with Lionell Johnson to rack up 329 tackles between them. He had a monster game 11/5/76 vs. UH registering 23 tackles on an otherwise miserable afternoon.
Became an orthopedic surgeon and was inducted into the Hall of Honor in 2018.

Great photo! Moreover, I congratulate you on posting jersey no. 15 on Friday, August 19, 2022, which is actually 15 days before game day on Saturday, September 3. Today, Saturday, August 20, is 14 days. Most of the posts have it a day early, which is going to be interesting on Thursday, September 1, when everyone is posting jersey no. 1, when there still will be two days before game day as of September 1. Let’s watch to see how this plays out….
